A sexual friend finding site, was hacked leaving nearly 4 million people very exposed.

Not sure what that information will be used for other than blackmail I guess.
Depends on what they got. There are a lot of credit card transactions and credit card #'s on file. The memo they sent just talks about user names & passwords, but I am more worried about the financial implications.
Most likely to send them a lot of black market Viagra and Cialis spam. Oh, and ads for penis enlargement pills.

The article I read says there's no credit card info as far as they know. They did get everything else though. Seems they wanted 100k not to publish the info and when they didn't get it published it. Now some dude is trying to shame people on the list.

How DARE that hacker try to extort money from us perverts by threatening to publish details of our naughty little hobby. He should make money the old fashioned way by screwing EVERYONE and then getting bailed out by the taxpayers and using that money to give himself a nice bonus from his too big to fail bank on Wall Street. That way if he ever got caught he couldn't potentially go to jail.

We have AFF accounts and it is something we are worried about, but big companies getting hacked is something that unfortunately seems like it is going to be a big part of everyday life. If you don't have some kind of fraud monitoring and protection service for your credit cards and other financial information, you really should. Most big banks now offer it as a part of doing business. I know it has saved me tons of heartache and lots of money so far.
