So A&E is going to have a series about swingers... it says there are 15 million swingers in the US.... what is Utah's population these days? lol

So who is going to be watching this new show?
As long as it doesn't conflict with The Bachelor and My 600-lb Life I guess I'll watch a show about swingers.
Didn't know they were even making a show. When does it aire?

Why would any industry sponsor shows about the positive side of Swinging? I doubt there is any big money in promoting the swing lifestyle any more than there is profit to singing the praises of plural marriage. The vice industry might even suffer financially should swinging really catch on. This is a lifestyle that must eat the crumbs that fall from the gay lesbian table to acquire any "me to" acceptance. It seems like social and financial suicide for the deep pockets.

Naw. It's all about being able to sell advertising and a show about sex with the addition of a shock factor and ESPECIALLY one where people can watch it and smugly judge other people who are participating in it should do fairly well IMHO.

Huh? I heard they have an agenda, now they have furniture?

Not REAL furniture...it's from Ikea.

Why would they? They probably wouldn't. I strongly suspect it will show only really fit, conventionally sexy, couples on some kind of a bedroom merry-go-round. Along with, if they find it, some couple or couples whose relationship gets screwed up by swinging. And I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they created a situation like that for the show if they didn't just find one.

But a REAL reality show about swinging, showing people from 18 through their 60s or 70s, with the biggest single group in their 40s, with bodies ranging from incredibly skinny through obese? People who are, except for having rejected society's "you only have sex with your significant other" commandment, are absolutely and completely normal people? No, THAT show they'd never sponsor.

I expect that this show, if it has any effect at all on society's view of swinging, will have a negative one, reinforcing the idea that swingers will jump into bed with anyone, and leading to even more people "signing up" in the expectation of getting laid whenever they feel like it.
How many new profiles will be created on swinging sites after this show airs? I'm guessing a lot, at least for curiosity if nothing else.
HBO did a great job with the "Real Sex" show in the 90s. THAT was reality TV.
Ah...great memories of the Real Sex producers running around during the Erotic Ball at the old LSO convention trying to talk Ms. Evil into letting them shoot her in her slutty little costume. They would also have specific "dances" that were pre-announced to be filmed for the program. The dance floor would almost clear entirely when those dances were announced. LOL

They had a swinger pride parade in new Orleans this year. Maybe in 20 years we can have a table too.

Except that's a false equivalency; swinging is a choice people make. No one is born as a swinger. This is like comparing wearing contacts to having green eyes; one chooses to wear contacts, one doesn't choose to be born w/ green eyes.

We for one are excited to watch it for the pure pleasure of laughing at situations we have been in or seen! Of course they have to Hollywood it to pay the bills!

I was only referring to acceptance of lifestyles. Right now being gay is probably more acceptable to society than we are.
I just hope they show some pictures of the men. If it is all women we just as well watch the bachelor.
For the love of all things good ladies and gentlemen......get some male photos in your profiles. Its like shopping for beef at the farmers market
Well,, did anyone watch it? What did you think?

My thought,,, just another catchy title for a reality series,, not realistic necessarily,, had some good points, but looks like they are going to have some "DRAMA", ( Britanny & Mike?). So much like all the other shows,, reckon they think everyone will get all worked up in the conflict and anxiously await the next show.

Probably will watch another or two,, and hope to be wrong with the direction it seems to be headed already.

On the other hand,, there has been a lot of coverage here in Tn on a wingers club opening up next to a school. Look for a lot of legal action on that one I bet!
Have it on our DVR but haven't watched it yet. Expecting a lot of manufactured "drama". I heard there would be a "Christian couple" as a counterpoint to these disgusting heathens. Also, in case anyone is wondering, Warren County Ohio is NOT a hotbed of swinging. Clicking thru a few stills from the promos they got one thing right. The red Solo cups they're drinking out of.

Doubt it will make it unless a bunch of vanillas stumble on it and watch it for a vicarious thrill. Usually shows like these THINK they're being titillating when in fact they're just being judgmental and if that's how they edit it they'll attract a few crazy religious people who will watch it with disgust (while likely being secretly turned on) and the self satisfaction that at least THEY aren't going to hell.
I have not seen the show, may never watch it. I did read a review that pretty much says it is stilted, poorly done and appears (gasp) scripted.
*******Spoiler alert*******
They already have quotes for the "Christian" couple, with the guy making pronouncements that this behavior is immoral, against the bible, etc.
And Brittany is sending sext messages to one of the other husbands BEHIND EVERYONE'S BACKS,so that adds the "drama" as that is discovered, with her husband crying about the deception.
All very covered in BS. Interesting that these people all live in the same small development, did they include this as a feature in the real estate ads (We have parks, recreations trails, community pools and group sex all covered by your HOA fees!)
