Anyone have any recommendations for a marriage counselor that could help a couple navigate the issues related to the lifestyle?
I don't think you need a marriage counselor to tell you that if the lifestyle is causing issues in your marriage it is time to get out of the lifestyle. Unless of course the lifestyle is more important to you than your marriage.
well said.
Lifestyle or not marriage counselors may not help you with the issues your currently dealing with. I'm not a counselor but I can tell you it all begins with being honest with each other in or out of the lifestyle.
I'm thinking a good Counselor typically listens to and allows one (or two) to bring from within and say out loud what one already knows.

Not aware of any lifestyle friendly counselors here in Utah. There are a few on another swing site we're on but I think they're in California. I think it might be hard to find a lifestyle friendly therapist here in Utah with the prevailing religion here. I do know a few gay therapists here that I could recommend who might not be quite as judgmental.
I heard of a guy that is quite liberal minded in south slc area. I think his last name is thompson. As I recall he is black, from So Cal, claims to not be republican (lol) and felt that Utah needed some more open mindedness. It's been a few years since I hear of him. Maybe he's not here anymore. Good luck.
There is actually a husband/wife therapist team in Ogden that specialize in this very thing! His name is Mark Malan and his wife is Colette. If Ogden is too far to drive, I'm sure they could recommend someone closer to you. Look them up. We heard them speak a few years back at a conference in California. Had no clue such a thing existed in Utah.
Thanks for the suggestions. If anyone stumbles on this thread later and has a good suggestion, PM me if you want.
