What do you think?
Yeah, it seems that 99 percent of the posts to the forum are from people in Utah. I can't decide whether that means that all the real members are in Utah, and the profiles that show people in other states are fakes, or that a few people in Utah are receiving some kind of perks to make the forums look like they're being used.
Alot of people in Utah have been to alot of parties that have alot of people so I would say majority are real that UT. But still plenty of fakes out there like all sites.
This site was started in Utah (and to some extent Florida) so naturally you're going to find the lions share of the members in those two states. We're on another site that predated Swingular by a number of years and it has many people from many different areas but a lot of the members and definitely the earliest members on that site are from Minnesota and surrounding areas where the people who started it and their friends are from.
From my vantage point I'm seeing a bit of a contraction in the number of people participating in (if not joining) the swing sites. I think swinging, while overall slowly increasing in numbers, is somewhat cyclical and I think we're in sort of a downward swing of the pendulum right now. Also, free sites like Craigslist and to some extent Facebook are siphoning off a fair amount of people who don't want to pay to be part of a larger community and don't mind fishing in an arguably smaller pool.
The thing we like about dedicated swing sites like Swingular is the added security and the larger sense of community that isn't afforded by trying to hook up via a venue such as Facebook. But I can certainly see how it would be frustrating to join a site only to find few if any members in your area. That's why most sites offer a free trial membership initially. Do you have any local swing sites you could join in addition to Swingular? People complain a lot about Swingular (chat rooms, etc.) but it's still the largest and best way to find like minded people at least here in Utah. YMMV

We are all REALLY from Utah. The Lifestyle is strong here and the people here are real an Genuine. Some of our best friends (with or without benefits) are in the lifestyle.
Well, CBUTAH, some of the best people, period, are in the lifestyle. I don't mean the lookie-lous, or people who jump in just because they think anyone on a swingers site will fuck anyone of the right sex that asks. Even though some folks seem to think there are lots of those types, and there are a number of them, they're outnumbered by the real people, the ones who are essentially honest, who are open-minded, accepting and considerate of the feelings and desires of others, and, perhaps most of all, who are intelligent and who think for themselves instead of just following the crowd in whatever direction is the most popular at the moment. Those are the people who make it a real community, not just a bunch of sex hungry whatevers. The others, who are here just for whatever sex they can get and don't give a damn for anything but their own personal pleasure, well, they usually don't get a lot of that pleasure, not over the long run, and mostly they eventually either manage to give themselves away or get tired of trying with little or no result, and then they leave.
And for YOUNGCHARM, what do you mean by "check out" Utah? You're in Illinois. If you mean to check it out strictly online, I'm not sure what you'd get from it. While there are certainly people who enjoy sexting, sex chat and sex camming, I think the majority of people want to meet people in the flesh. If you're hoping to meet someone online, and then visit Utah to hook up, well, there just aren't millions of people who will make a for sure hookup commitment with someone they've never actually met. Many will do a "I like what I see, and I think we'd probably click and hook up, why don't we meet and see what happens?", but there's no actual certain commitment in those situations, and Illinois to Utah would be a pretty long trip if it turned out to be for nothing. The only other possibility I can think of would be if you came here and spent at least a couple of weeks and went to some Meet N Greets or events that were open to everyone. But many of those "open" events bar or restrict single males, and single males aren't usually terribly successful at the first few Meet N Greets they attend. The one way I can think of that it would likely work well is if you have a girl friend who'd like to swing who came to Utah with you. Then you could participate as a couple in whatever events were going on while you were here, and if you were here long enough might even get invited to some house parties, and would be pretty likely to enjoy the visit. IS that what you were thinking of? I'm discounting actually moving here, I just can't imagine anyone doing that for no reason other than to check out the local swinging community. ~ Terry

We are on this site because we come to Salt Lake frequently (we have a condo there)and thats why we joined the site. Compared to the site that we are on in Houston, Couplestouch its much different. The people here are more responsive in the forums and not as adversarial. We have met great people from both sites and enjoyed their company. We have gotten no response from anyone on Swingular in Houston and really great responses from people in the Salt Lake area. If you are going to be in Utah and want to meet like minded folks this is a great site to be on.
Sorry it was not clear. The members on swingular specifically from Utah. Have not seen post from people in the Houston area. We have made great friends on swingular and hope to make more. We have also made friends from the local site in Houston, couplestouch. Most of the forums in CT have very little activity. The only one that get much activity is politics and the opinions are pretty much in one direction from a small group of people.
