...Scott Pilgrim vs. the World one of the greatest achievements in the art of cinema in our lifetime?

1) Yes

2) Huh?

3) Well it ain't Gone With The Wind but yeah.

4) What are you, like twelve?!!?

5) Seriously, Evil, you need help.

6) I found it derivative and banal.

7) If it ain't got titties I ain't a watchin' it.

8) No, but I can't wait for Dumb And Dumber 2.

9) Never seen it. I just watch cute cat videos online.

10) Han shot first.
We loved it. It was bad ass. Um, really really bad ass.
"You punched the highlights out of her hair!"
SPVTW rules because it has vegan edge.
Sorry, never saw it. Must be 'cause I specialize in live stage, not movies. Although I did accidentally get about a second and a half of screen time in something called "Jackie & Ryan".
It was totally based on the hit Off-Broadway play. The part of Scott Pilgrim was brought to life by the irascible Richard Simmons and the late, great Snooki Polizzi played the part of Ramona. It won a Tony for Best Use of Recycled Materials in Set Design and Program Printing.

Never even heard of it

Prolly didn't make it to the Garland Megaplex.
Sorry Evil but I didnt see it either, but its not a chick flick so would not even have been on my radar, only go to chick flicks because the other kind get me no points with the wife, and all those points get me into the nickle cade for lots of fun on a lazy saturday afternoon.
Plus I have case after case of tissues I need to use up, those other movies will not help me tear up so I canuse up all those boxes of cry paper and free up some of me storage room for something useful.
It is TOTALLY a chick flick. Especially if said chick is a gamer chick. It's friggin' hilarious but some older folks might not really 'get it' if the last game they played was Pong or Frogger. Or if their idea of humor stops somewhere around Jeff Foxworthy or Larry The Cable Guy.
Hey just because I cary a cane and walk with a limp dose not indicate my age, I am not old just agged like a good cheese or wine.
And that cane could hurt if I could catch you and swing it hard enough, but not to hard dont want to break a bone or a hip, that could set me back a few years. Need that room in my storage for lots of geretol and metamucil. That way I would only have to go to wally world for the greetings not to shop. Old my ass you young whipper snapper. You'll see one day.
Well I'm older than you are (physiologically anyways, mentally/emotionally I'm probably close to the youngest swinger on Swingular).
HAHAHA!!!
It was the dumbest ass movie that I ever wasted 90 minutes on that I will never get back!
Okay, so I just watched the trailer, so I now have a solid and complete understanding of the film, including all of it's nuance, inside jokes, easter eggs and commentary on the the world and our social decay and as a society.
Then, reviewing Evils list of 10 options, I would have to refute some (I saw at least some partial titties), of course it is derivative (the rips offs are actually tributes to previous films including Kill Bill and every Kung Fu movie made in the 70's). Dumb and Dumber To is already out so there is no wait, cat videos are taking over the Internet (it's almost full people, the madness must stop) and Han definitely shot first, Lucas has been attempting to cover this up for decades and we all know that Evil needs help!
It's actually a take on the graphic books Scott Pilgrim. I'm a bit of a gamer and i both like and own the movie. My better half is less of a gamer and found it only mildly amusing though.

So Evil, have you ever watched Greaser's Palace? Wonder what you thought of that flick?

No I haven't however reading a short synopsis leads me to believe I might like it. But it was rated much lower on Rotten Tomatoes than Scott Pilgrim. Perhaps because it was made when I was fairly young explains why I haven't seen it. I'm starting to get the impression that not everyone enjoys my taste in cinema or more than that my lame attempts at humor by bringing it up. Really glad I didn't make this thread about one of my other favorite movies, Orgazmo. Don't know if it's a generational thing or just demographics but I think many of my fellow Swingularites are probably more into Smokey And The Bandit or any one of the Transformers movies. Pass the popcorn.
And it gives me a modicum of hope for the future of mankind that some of you quoted lines from this movie.

Now who can throw out a few of the best lines from Orgazmo?
This is a great post! Very helpful at weeding out potential bad first dates. Everyone should have a section of their profile that states: We will straight up jump your bones(no questions asked,) if you love these 3 films: (Scott Pilgrim, Royal Tennenbaums, and Inglorious Basterds (Django Unchained, as an alternate.)

P.S. Don't be baggin on Burt and Sally in their prime!
Oh, yeah, I think it was released straight to video, I believe it was released only on Beta, the third mistake of it.
Beta was and IS a superior format. Back east it was the preferred format and VHS only beat it because old shits like my parents couldn't keep up with how quickly Beta tapes booted up compared to VHS. I think it was like 7.8 seconds for Batamax compared to like 15 minutes for a JVC if memory serves.

Wait, are you talking about Orgazmo?!!? I have it on BluRay (and still have my old DVD released in Japan). Either way it was/is a superior work of cinema. Mormon missionaries and the porn industry, a match made in...well, the Celestial Kingdom.
" When I'm around you, I kind of feel like I'm on drugs. Not that I do drugs. Unless you do drugs, in which case I do them all the time. All of them."

It's a masterpiece. Ok, masterpiece might be a little strong.
"Step up your game, Scott. Break out the "L" word."

"Lesbian?"

"The OTHER "L" word."

"Lesbians?"

"Because I'm in lesbians with you."
Sex-B-Bomb.
"Shut the fuck up, Donnie!"
Big Lebowski...best movie of all time
I had heard so much about the "Big Lebowski" that I bought the DVD. I also watched "Scott Pilgrim" this evening. Two different styles. I love them both. I love the polyamorous aspects of "Scott Pilgrim." Make love not war!
"Your bf's about to get effed in the b!"
I
Don't waste your time. As some have pointed out it's a silly pointless exercise in juvenile humor. Watch "Divergent" instead. Now THAT is some hard core, thought provoking cinema. I'm totally gonna call it. Oscar for Shailene Woodley. The nuanced way she jumped into that big hole, her realistic fear of crows, the meaningful glances she throws at Theo James right before she macks on him. Stunning!

Besides, not sure how well SPVTW would translate with subtitles en Barthelona.
I can't believe there hasn't been more talk about orgazmo since it was referenced. You would think that more people in this group would have seen it since it is about a missionary from utah getting into porn, oh well "to the choda-mobile"
Ms. Evil was Choda Dog for Halloween one year and I was T-Rex. Our kids are STILL in therapy over that one.

And we've tried to make it our personal mission in life to expose as many people as possible to this classic cinematic masterpiece. I think Depeche Mode's a pretty sweet band.
1. Canadian rock rocks. Let's have waffles.
Haha, i would love to see you as T-Rex "you're gonna make me cum or I'm gonna kick your butt"
I could never pull off a totally seductive sex siren hottie like T-Rex now that I'm really old. I will have to be the DVDA lady next year.
Bring in the stunt cock
But I haven't smacked my ass yet.
