The wife and I have more than one account and I was shocked to see my last log in was several days ago when I haven't logged on to it in ages. I then wrote Tech Support who verified that all accounts are logged into for admin reasons.
Anyone else not like this practice?

Wow...really???? What reasons?
There is no NEED to log into our accounts. I would like to know WHY they are getting in. Being in InfoSec I am NOT happy with this practice. Joe
That rattles the hell out of me.as an admin in a former life, there are zero reasons to log into users account.zero.
You can reset passwords through am admin tool.
Guess I'll be deleting everything I can from my profile. Thanks ridiculous.I already have the NSA up in my stuff.no reason for more

The bigger issue is where in their privacy statement do they #1 disclose they would log into everyone's account and #2 explain what they do once logged in? Absent such disclosure is a violation of the privacy act....
... I find it hilarious that "IT" folk are upset about this. What exactly do you think they need to login to your account to see that they can't see in the database, logs, or a superuser program?
Who the hell really cares? Refer to the post on security. There is nothing for them to see that they could not see anyway if they had an account and a friends list. BFD!
Did you guys know our passwords are being stored in plain text on their server. They should be encrypted in case of a server breach.
I think it's funny that some of these people who are posting comments about security actually have no idea about the information they are giving. In effect, they are trying to cause a stir on this site and we have no idea why.
To address the first concern, we do not log into anyone's account. Even if we did, like SugarAndSpice says, we already have all of your information at our disposal, why would we need to log into your account to get it? What the tech support was trying to say is that we have scripts that pretend to log into user accounts for stress testing and so on and so forth. They do not actually log into your account.
And to the last poster, who is also posting false information, all passwords are stored in an encrypted state. As a matter of fact, they are salted with hash for those of you who know tech security. That is why we cannot give you your password and you must reset it if you ever forget it.
Now, as a warning to anyone else who wishes to post false information, be careful, we will start cracking down on those of you who are trying to hurt the Swingular community.
Don't believe what you read in the forums as anyone can say anything to make us look bad. If you truly have a concern, please contact us and we will address it directly.

Okay, I think someone was in our account too. There's a BIG wet spot over there in the corner by some of Ms. Evils naughty pics and it smells kinda funky in here. Wtf, you guys!

So then, can we not trust the "last visit" date on a person's profile? If the person has not logged in for the last 2 years, is it possible that one of the "stress tests" may cause the profile to indicate that the person had been on the board more recently?

Good question. The scripts ignore anyone that hasn't logged in after a set period of time and we run these tests infrequently.
Seriously! Who do you have to blow to get the Forum Janitor in here with a mop?!!?

It means that when an account says it was last logged into X days ago, it's fake.
You can bet they're doing it to make the site appear more active than it really is. I've seen the system say that a friend of mine was currently online... when contacting them, they said they hadn't been online in weeks.
In other words, the last login dates you see for people's accounts are basically made up... and the "who's online now" is probably 70% fake, as a result.
I can't blame them for wanting to pad the numbers a little... but... that's kind of the wrong way to do it. =)
