I have always found that conversation is the best aphodesiac. If someone is shy, that usually means that they are not confortable in the situation. I personally like to steer the conversation toward them, find a point of interest in common, and go from there. The topic doesn't even have to be about sex. If you bring out the passion in someone about something....other passions tend to follow.
