Hope everyone enjoys this pseudo patriotic demi-holiday that is the de facto Fourth of July here in lovely Zion. The irony of them plastering my neighborhood with U.S. flags never fails to amuse me as we celebrate a holiday that would not be if the federal government hadn't chased the Mormons out of the (at the time) United States. Enjoy a slice of your favorite pie (pussy?) and a cold beer which ironically was in many ways easier to get back when this territory was first settled. 
LMFAO! Just watching a little bit of the big parade. They're rolling big military vehicles down the parade route covered in flags. Also, they have a booth set up to write thank you letters to veterans. I think they ought to have people write to the descendants of Johnston's Army (the troops sent by the federal govt. to keep the Mormons in check) who had to march out to this God forsaken place and tell Brother Brigham that he already HAD enough damned wives.
