Are there any other couples on here willing to admit to being geeks or nerds? We are going to the SLC comic con again this year and want to know if anyone wants to meet up Saturday with someone with similar interests. Not really planing on anything happening, but thought it would be nice to meet people with similar likes.
We are going all three days, VIP passes.
We are as well but will have the kids with us Thursday and Friday. It was to crowded on Saturday last year so we are not going ti have them with us this time.
Not headed to ComicCon, but going to the Geekshowpodcast.com Movie Nite at Brewvies this Sunday!

I (Jay) will be doing security again this year at the comic-con and would love a way to unwind after the long day.

Sadly the outfit I am building won't be ready in time So I am planning on going in a mideavle style, probably Friday and Saturday.
We will go to Comicon Salt Lake but mostly with our kids during the convention. We won't be naughty at the convention, but can still have fun meeting people in the fun casual environment. After hours, we might go to the after party at the Depot. Last year there was a music party at the Depot, but it was kinda lame since few people showed up. I theorize this is because last year the show attracted a bunch of introverts and very very few extraverts which might happen again and make it hard to find any large gatherings of geeks. Another possible fun spot could be The Hotel dance club, which may or may not have a more interesting crowd than the usual lame-o insecure-types.
FYI, Salt Lake's regular "geek" rock experience is the Spazmatics on Saturday nights at Liquid Joes. There are about 12 open-minded couples who are there almost every Saturday, and they can really make their own fun when the energy is right. Seriously I can't tell which wives are with which husbands because they swap so often. Some of the people there are full-blown geeks, but don't count on everyone. Like most bars featuring music around SLC there will be a predominance of Jocks and Insecure conformists who don't dare do anything socially risky, much less spark up a conversation about the non-linear nature of time/space expansion and how that can be applied to social entropy.

We are very new to the life and don't know anybody and thought this might be a decent way to brake the ice. Not ruling anything out of cores but not looking for naughty times, tho if it happens.....
We were totally gonna sign up for the Jidai Training. Even had our light sabers all polished up and new batteries put in, only to find it was sold out. Damned geeks! Now plan B is to kidnap Brent Spiner, take him to the mock up they're having of the Enterprise D bridge and play with his positronic penis. Single male indeed! Anybody wanna join us?
