Swingers Forum - Swinging capitol of USA

It seems that Utah has a very high amount of swingers especially here on Swingular. Is Utah the swinging capitol state in the United States? I am curious as to all of your thoughts as to if you think Utah is the swinging capitol state in the US and even if it is not why there are so many swingers in the state of Utah. Thank you!
This site paints an unfair picture... there are several sites throughout the country and each one tends to be geographically located, despite being on the "worldwide web". For instance, if you went to Colorado and asked around, they'd all tell you they're on www.kasidie.com, the best (most expensive) site for those that travel and is the most comprehensive imo is www.lifestylelounge.com

As far as the locale with the most "swinging"... Las Vegas, no doubt about it.

You're welcome ;)
Gotta agree with the "Utah" vote, I've been a member for a while, live in Vegas, and UT has more real, sensual and fun couples than any other place I've lived or visited.

No flakes or fakes, have never had a no-show with a UT couple or lady. They are for real, usually ready, and if not will make a play plan and keep the date. SLC has got to take title for best City for lifestyle fun, and UT gets the State title, So, congrats to all my LDS friends who enjoy the hot, discreet, lifestyle fun
Sheer numbers I'd have to go with California or Texas. Number per capita, Utah has to be right up there. We started swinging in the Midwest in the late 80's and have "swung" in many areas of the country and witnessed the advent of swinging over the internet (which opened it up and made the "cost" of entry much easier and less intimidating to many more people). Yes Swingular is mostly a regional site concentrated heavily in Utah (and Florida) due to the influence and location of the site's originators.

I think one of the reasons swinging has done as well as it has in our little corner of the world is mainly the influence of the Mormon church. Those living here who aren't Mormon I think looked for ways to thumb their noses a bit at the control the church has over their daily lives (look no further than the alcohol laws). And those in the church, I think, having been a part of a rather strict upbringing and moral code were curious and possibly felt that they missed out somewhat on some things that people raised in other areas might take for granted as part of growing up, that being sexual experimentation. Yes there are lots of horny little former Mormon guys and gals around here looking to break free from the shackles of the church and get their freak on!
I tend to agree with what Mr Evil said. But..have to admit, I haven't really got a clue...lol. But he sounded good...huh?
Actually I would have to disagree wi Mr Evil. Although everyone brings up Utahs alcohol laws as the main argument. Although many question the laws here there are many states with more and stricter laws than us. The only one possibly as an argument is the 3.2% ABV beer content which is ridiculous. Anyway off point.

Perhaps that many people LDS or otherwise have just come to an enlightened understanding of what is meant by adultery and that it is not as deviant as people assume to want multiple partners as nature has hardwired into us over Thousands of years of evolution, and church or no church we just want to have a good time and party.

As for personal experiences during my month long workation in Hawaii I looked for swingers to play with and even being in the capital and most populated area of Hawaii their swinger scene from what I could find was non existant at best.
Alcohol laws weren't my main argument, just a convenient example. Many more things happen here in Utah on a daily basis to show people that the church and it's followers have a special status and the church's agenda more often than not is followed to the letter (unless you weren't paying attention the past few weeks as to the goings on up on Capitol Hill).

Like I've said, we've been swinging here in Utah for a LONG time. Back before the internet we had a local swinger's "yellow pages" published by a local swinger and her husband. Before than all we had was a small subsection of the Southern Nevada Connection magazine. We've met, talked to, and even played with a lot of active Mormons and ex-Mormons. Most of the active ones were actively in denial as to what they were actually doing and the ex-Mormons were so giddy at the thought of throwing off the yoke of the church they too many often went way overboard and soon burned out, if not on swinging certainly on alcohol and drugs.

I still maintain that living with stricter moral guidelines often equates to some people being much more likely to rebel. Not necessarily disagreeing with your premise of non-monogamy being hard wired into mankind's DNA to some extent. But I don't think that explains why Utah in particular has a more active swing scene than say Idaho or South Dakota or wherever. And yes, oddly Hawaii seems to have a very low key swing scene.

Texas? In my experience, California yes, Florida yes, Arizona some parts, NY some, Vegas you bet, but Texas? I haven't found that contingent yet. Can you recommend places that I might look? I'm especially interested in finding something in the Houston area.

Thanks,
Jim
All I know is that on other sites we've been on over the years there have been many Texans. And back in the day when we attended the LSO conventions there was ALWAYS a large Texas contingent. Hell, they would stay in blocks of rooms together at the hotels and fly the freakin' Texas flag off their balconies! LOL
We read in Playboy a few years ago believe it or not but per population Michigan has or had more swingers then any other state in the union. I guess it gets pretty hot up there in the winter.
Thank you everyone! I enjoyed your posts and found them to be very enlightening.
swinging is strong in Atlanta as well.

OK,
Now that I've sniffed around a little in TX, I can say that plenty of options do exist there.
