Swingers Forum - New chat message, hit ok, then phone freezes.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3. I have never used the chat room. Once in a while, I'll look to see who is in there. Usually, soon after I move on, I'll get a notification saying I have a chat message. I hit, ok, and then the site or my entire phone freezes.

Just a moment ago, I got a message while checking my mail, showing a chat notification. I hit ok, phone froze.

So, if anyone has sent us a chat message or request, we aren't being snobs, we just can't answer. Same with the chat room. I'm not sure if by going in and leaving, it shows me still in there and people are trying to say hi. Again, I apologize if this is what's happening. I can't see who is trying to contact me, and either way, I couldn't answer if I wanted to.

Anyone else have this happen? Is there a fix? I don't use the chat room, but I always try to answer a message as I think it's only good manners. :)
The chat has some quirks to it I think I have had similar things happen, or I can't log in at all.
Happens to us all of the time...we have an Iphone
Sounds more like the IM instead of the chat itself. It does act up on phones.
Hmmm, I didn't even know we had IMs. It just says, "You have a new chat message". It gives the choice to hit cancel, or ok. Unfortunately, guess I'll have to start hitting cancel since anything else results in a problem with my phone. Wish it would at least show me who was trying to contact me.
sometimes we have this problem with the IM. if you hit cancel then go to the "chat now" tab, click on it and a popup showing chat, hit the back button (on the chat, not on your phone) if your contacts dont show up. if you havent "seen" the message there should be one that has a pink number next to it.
Hope that helps.
I also have the S3 and just had the same problem.
iPhone 5 here and same thing. Freezes completely. Stupid!!!! Lol.
Bummer. Well, at least it's a known issue, so hopefully people can assume we just couldn't answer their message and won't think we're just being rude.

Good to know it's not just me...
Just bumping this to show the admin it's still a huge problem.

I was on the site checking messages today, and I think 4 different times I got a notice saying I had a chat message and it froze my phone. I have no idea who was trying to contact me.

If I get a chat message notification, does that mean it came from somebody currently in the chat room? I've never used it, so not sure how it works.

Anyway, as I've said before, sorry to whoever was trying to chat. Not trying to be snobby, just can't see who is trying to say hi.
I have the same issue with my IPhone....
I have a Galaxy s4 and it happens to me all the time. I found out that if I hit return on my phone until it actually exits the sight, I can come back in, click on the "chat now" tab at the bottom, hit the return on the top left which then shows my online contacts and there will be a pink/red number next to new messages. I can open it and reply but if the person sends another message, my phone freezes again and the whole process starts over. IM is pretty much useless on a phone! Wish admin would figure it out!
@Starshell1212, you can just turn off IM's in the ALL SETTINGS page.

Uncheck "Activate Instant Messenger" This way, it won't show you online and at least no one will send messages into the void inadvertently.

One of those yesterday was probably me, but we talked via Kik anyway.

@DELICIOUSLYWET They're very considerate, we've enjoyed talking with them. There should be Gold, Silver and Blue stars available to hand out. haha
It happens on both the iPad and iPhone. It is a pain.
I think this was answered awhile back. The software that is used to run the website chat feature has problems with the newer operating software inside the phones. I think that admin said that they were searching for a solution but I know that sometimes these things are not so easy to solve. It may take an update to the chat software and that might not happen.

Send complaints to support and see if they answer.

@SugarandSpice - I placed this under the Support/Bug Report forum for that reason, and bumped it so they might remember to keep some focus on it.

@Delicious and Vita - Aw, how polite and considerate of you all to take the time to say that we are polite and considerate. Gold stars, Blue Stars and hugs and kisses are all acceptable rewards. :)
Samsung Galaxy S 5. ...Hit ok and freezes. Please just message me.....
