Being new to the site and new to the lifestyle, we're having to do a lot of profile searches.
Since we're new to the lifestyle, we know a lot of the more experienced couples aren't usually interested in dealing with us newbies. We've had a couple of experienced couples contact us, and overall, we've had a great time.
However, being new, it seems more likely that contacting other newish couples might be easier in getting a response. When searching our area, I always confine the search to people who have logged on in the last 30 days.
I'll read a profile saying they are new to the lifestyle, then see they joined the site in 04'. I've had some people contact me, but the age they mentioned in the email was years away from their profile.
In general, it seems people really neglect keeping their profiles up to date. Keeping it updated will help everyone. You're more likely to get the interest you're looking for and others can more easily find what they are looking for.
If it's been months or years, or your boundaries have changed, consider updating your profile to reflect it. It will make the site better for everyone.

Agreed, i guess its probably time for us to update ours, especially our pictures, that doesn't even look like us anymore
...Ms. Karma and I have gotten substantially better looking since we last updated our profile. I think we will leave it as is; otherwise we will be inundated with blind friend requests.

Honestly, I'm not sure it matters. I'm beginning to think I'm in the minority of people who read profiles. We have listed, not far into our intro that we would like to receive a message before or at the same time as a friend request...but we continue to get the blind requests.
Either way, sounds like a solid plan you have there. Let your enhanced sexiness be a surprise!
We updated ours last month and we're in Ogden; and I think we're real..... Yep, we're real. We don't post too many pics cuz we found in general it keeps the pic hunters at bay.

But we are like you, we don't bother posting pics in our private area. We'd rather trade pics once we start talking to a couple. Maybe I'm just old fashioned like that, haha.

LOL...just wrote to a couple commenting on something they said in their profile. They wrote back stating they should probably update their profile since they apparently live in Germany now. Ya think? 
I just exchanged emails with a couple who stated that they like to leave inconsistencies in their profile so that they could claim they'd not updated it in a long time and were actually out of the country whenever they needed an excuse to avoid any twatwaffles that contacted them.

. But yeah, we've had people who had hair in their pictures, and quite a bit less hair in person. Not a big deal, but obviously that was quite an old picture.Congrats on the weight loss. One thing about this lifestyle, it has certainly motivated us to get back in the gym, haha.
You will find lots of great stuff on this site 
!!!!! An updated profile should be the least of your worries hahaha ......... Parties , meet and greets that's where you will meet real people . There are so many fake profiles on swingular . We have found lots of single female profiles that are so fake . But most people think if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck then it must be a duck LOL . We say why lie but lots of people don't get this concept !!!! Also we have noticed from friends that have split up or left the lifestyle that swingular never deletes their profiles ......... Really? Guess I was always under the impression that experienced couples don't want to deal with boundaries and potential freak outs that can happen with newbies, so they just stay away. Not to mention we are Soft Swap, for now, which again I just assumed most experienced full swap people find boring? At least, in other forums I've been in, that is the way they came off.

Sounds good! Although, I admit, I'm horrible at remembering faces. Just awful. It doesn't help that we were a bit laser focused that night on the specific couple we went there to meet. In retrospect, I hope we didn't come off as rude, we were both a bit nervous, so we stayed near the couple that made us comfortable.
But yes, if you guys see us tonight, feel free to come over! It would be nice to see a familiar face.
I know what you mean, we have run into couples that have pictures that ar 20+ years old. Most of the ones on our profile are less than a year old.
