Do any of you use that area, when looking at peoples' profiles, called "Private Notes?"
I've mentioned that I don't really use the "Friends" list for anything -- I pretty much just accept everyone, most of whom I know nothing about. But I DO use the "Private Notes" area, and that's how I keep track of interesting or obnoxious people.
I was giggling to myself as I sorted through emails today 'cause of what my Private Notes contain about some people, and I was thinking how nightmarish it'd be if I found out that "Private Notes" actually meant that it was something "Private" between BOTH you and the person who's profile associated with the note could see! OMG!
There used to be a fella that frequented here, his old inaccurate profile photo was of him in a cowboy hat with abs that had long-since disappeared. Anyhoo, he used to like to stir up the crowd and get people all unhappy and bitchy! I really enjoyed him 'cause he helped me sort out a type of folk that I really find unattractive, and I was able to annotate such discoveries in the "Private Notes" area.
So my giggles today came about as I. more than once, came across the most common "Private Note" from that time-period: "Arrogant Ass."
He had that designation himself, but I enjoyed his rants 'cause he really did help sort-out the other folks that were his clone!

We use it to. Pretty much for the same thing to help remember if we had emailed people, if they seemed like we wanted to know more or hang out stuff like that. Also we put their names in that part which helps in contact with them again. It's better than starting an email saying "hey you member us." And yes even if they are people that we just don't want to associate with.

No, never used it. Didn't really know what it was for. I still don't know how people get the "hot" designation. Is it because people voted them hot, or it the number of views in a day or week?
I'm sure we'll figure it out, but good to know the notes are a two way street. My guess is though, an arrogant ass wouldn't get a note, it'd probably just be a defriend.

It's just total number of views, and I don't think it goes away. Mine got to be 'hot' when I was arguing with cowboy man a lot, and it hasn't faded since then.

I see. We have over a thousand (never really noticed), but I think the star status shows whatever is most relevant. I know some people who were listed as hot, but later the star said updated.
Ours says "new" still. I'm guessing that the new status lasts a month or so, since we joined a couple of weeks ago.

Well back to the original topic. Yes I use private notes for much the same reasons.
Being new and meeting people in chat...I write their names down and perhaps some intimate details to recall later
