We have a 1989 Toyato MR2. She passed Safety but is only 2 points above the passing on Emissions. Anyone out there know what we can do to get it cleaner. We have spent good time on the car and would love to know if someone has more knowledge in this area. She is a classic and we would love to keep her going....Love my car!!!
We have tried the engine cleaning products but maybe it is a part of the car that is making it not pass?

Just changing the oil before the test can make all the difference. But if you cant get it to pass, there is always the waiver
Does it have an O 2(oxygen) sensor??
Might want to shoot some mass airflow cleaner in the mass airflow sensor. Maybe change the o2 sensor like has been suggested.

I think it is more then changing something cause the car runs really well. Hubby is good at fixing it. Mountain Dude I think that might be the problem. Not sure any of the others are the problem.

We had a problem with the kids '87 Vette. We changed the plugs and o2 sensor. Passed after that.
