We are Heading to Vegas and wanting to stay somewhere New and wanted to see where everyone favorite play to stay and party at. Heading down the first weekend of June.
We are fans of the Monte Carlo. The pool can get crowded but the suite is roomy and the tubs are huge! We have rarely had a negative interaction with the staff,,, they have always treated us like we were the most important guest there.
For a younger group to interact with though the Hard Rock is probably the place. Last time we were in Vegas a couple of our friends stayed there... It looked like getting through security to be allowed into the pool area was a hassle so we didn't go out there but it sounded like one heck of a party. The rooms were functional but not large. about 3/4 the size of a Spring Suite's room...
Personally I think Treasure Island is starting to get a little worn around the edges but it's still a fun place.

When going to Vegas, I usually either have plans to play at the Rooster or the Oasis. Depending on where I'm going to play, I normally chose a hotel that is in one area or the other. If I'm going to be going to the Rooster, then I usually stay somewhere on the Boulder strip, rather than the main strip.
Sometimes, I just see what is cheap at places like Yahoo travel & try something new. I've sometimes found rooms at the Stardust, Tropicana, Luxor, etc, for $50 per night or less during a promotion period. You only seem to get those deals when you book in advance over the internet. I have not had good luck just walking into hotels on the strip & trying to get a room cold. That worked well for me in parts of Mexico & even Hawaii, but not in Vegas.
Vegas has lots of good places to stay & some others that don't make the grade so well. Any of the name brand resorts there are usually a pretty safe bet. Places like the Day's Inn, will usually cost almost as much & are far inferior.
If you plan to hang out at any of the European style (topless) pools, then you might want to stay at one of the hotels that has that sort of thing, like Caesars.
For breakfast, I usually hit Coco's, just south of the HardRock. It's always been a safe bet.

We go down to Las Vegas 2-3 times a year and we have never stayed at the same place twice. Trump Tower is very nice. MGM is good but the valet takes forever. Paris is really nice but getting in and out is challenging due to it being right in the middle of the strip. Gold nugget down on Fremont street has newly remolded tower rooms that are nice and cheap. We are heading down in 12 days and staying at the Aria.
We really like the Signature at MGM Grand.
Anywhere on Fremont. It is the "new" old Vegas. Easy access and cheap drinks!
Vdara or Aria and then party and play anywhere on the strip
The Strip is overrated. Fremont is awesome lately.
Check out the Cosmopolitan. Great suites, party people, shopping and food.
