We have sadly met some people here who have hidden motives and use the lifestyle to con their way into positions for personal gain. Though most everybody here are honest and have the best of intentions beware of the few who try to work their way into your wallet & other parts of your life.
It is esy to spot the users they are the ones wanting special favors, never pay their way & constantly expect hand outs & once in a while you can even get a little sex from them though not much emotion is involved.
Hmmmm a freind of mine went to a ladies house he met online ..two things led to another...
When they got done he got dressed..clothes were in another room ...Wallet was also...
Credit Cards and Cash missing ....

Don't feel bad we lost about 20K & almost a heck of a lot more to a couple we thought were our best friend who were just using us.
it sucks that people have to be that way...it's as bad as the frivelous law suits I mean c'mon people live life, work hard and quit trying to take the easy way out..
Are You Going to Name them out so we can Beware of them?
Hello all. We just joined this site and I was reading posts and I have to admit it is scary to know that people can be so "Stupid"!! It is bad enough that you have to beware of things everyday of your life and do the best you can do. I dont understand why people have to put a damper on "just letting your hair down and have fun" life.
I have a rule that I try to live by ( and its hard ) but I do my best to keep the friendship at a certain level, granted I have had a few that pulled the world over my eyes, just like everyone else. But I hope that joining this site will give us to meet Honest, fun, and REAL people.

Ooh, carefull there. The odds are against it, but you wouldn't want to be charged with libel...
but maybe you can give us a hint...

well if you go by a rule that some of us go by then you might not get scamed.
rule is if the sex is not good then don't work on a friendship.

Sorry but don't want to name them. That would make us as bad as them. We are bigger than that. we would reallly appreciate any information though if anybody here is slandering us as that would be reason for us to reveal the couple and what the motives really were.
Your stance of "we are better than that" is nice, but at least tell us the scam and you would not have to name names.
The only thing worse than a victim that remains silent is one that does not educate others.

In most states, the truth is an absolute defense against libel and slander.
Talk to an attorney. You might have a breach of contract case against them. I believe Utah has copied the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices statute which has mandatory treble damages and attorney's fees. If you can overcome your emberassment (of which there really shouldn't be any - one shouldn't ever be emberassed for being trusting), you can probably pursue damages in court.
Good luck!

As I was reading thru these posts my curiosity wasn't so much as to who but rather how....How does one(s) lose 20 G's and not notice or put a stop to that? The nature of the scam was my first question.
As to the legalities I would think that pursuing recoup would be my first instinct and screw embarrassment...lol...But as for keeping it from happening, we seem to lean toward friends first and a good level of trust BEFORE sex....either that or leave my wallet with the pitbull next to the bed....
