Swingers Forum - Keep Info Up Until Party Is Over?

So, I've noticed a trend with 'local party' info disappearing the second a party starts, i.e. phone number, time, place, etc. that were all on there are just gone and nowhere to be found. Could it be possible to keep that info up until at least midnight on the day of the party?

Could it be possible for a guest to rsvp with the host before the last minute so the host could get a better idea of what to plan for? It does make a difference to the host AND the guest would already have the info in plenty of time to make arrangements to get there! Of course..it would cut into ones ability to wait to the last minute for a "bigger and better deal" before "settling" on your party.

If you knew me at all, you'd know I rarely go to any party. Ever. It's not a matter of searching for a "bigger and better party" I just hate being around crowds. Even the thought of the meet and greets feels like it's too much.

But in this case, the party was supposed to be outside, I told the host I was going to show up, had the address for how to get there. Then snow hit so I'm presuming the venue changed. I know I should have written down the host's number before hand to check on changes, but I didn't. Fell asleep, woke up, party info including host's number was down.

Dog gone it! That's why you didn't show up to my party! I agree.... The party information shouldn't just disappear as soon as the start time has past. (That would mean that it was taken down after 7 pm. :( ) With that in mind, next time I will set up the start time as midnight and specify the real time in the party details section.

[/quote]You're right Jeff, I don't know you, or your situation. But you asked a general question, I answered in general manner. My assumption was that the guest had waited until the last minute to decide if they were going or not. I stand by my original answer. A host opens there home, does the work, and makes the effort to provide a party to entertain a guest...it would seem to me the right thing to do would be to NOT leave the host hanging until the last minute. Just my opinion, tho.

And, yes I see NOW that your situation was not this case. And understand. Sorry for being a bit short with you, But as a host of numerous parties here...you struck a nerve by asking a question that leads to a very real problem for those of us that do host parties.
Maybe, but I've thrown huge parties before, and I've had the same problem happen with Facebook events. In the case of the parties I've thrown, I preferred the info stay up online so that my guests could go there instead of texting me with last minute questions. The party info is up there to help the host out, and the more info you have on there for guests who have RSVPed the better.

Maybe you could change it so that only those who've said 'yes' on here can see it, and that could at least help to alleviate somewhat the problem of last minute party-crashers.
When we have parties we set the time and date to when the party starts! not to stir shit up, but as a host of many parties, I sure wouldn't wana sit at the computer or anything once the clock strikes party time and people start showing up! I shut down the computer, and start greeting people, and get to all the fun!!

In a way..that is what we have done. Once you rsvp to one of our parties..we send the party info to your email. If you haven't rsvp'd by party time..you didn't get..and probably won't. As Sins said..and we agree completely...the time comes to shut the computer off..and have fun!
Can't tell you how many times we've gone to a party, met some fun couples but then couldn't remember their profile handle. Would be really nice to see who RSVP'd an event after we got home than evening to send them a note or friends request.
