I'm in Orange County, CA quite a bit and need new ideas for dates (before the after date sex). Fun and different restaurants are good, but I'm looking for more than that and different than the traditional dinner and movies. Any ideas?
I am typically in the OC every week. My office is in Irvine. When the Mrs. Comes down there really is no shortage of fun things to do. How to answer your question really hinges on what you and your date like to do, so without knowing that, here are somethings we enjoy.
Disneyland...you can have a ton of fun with no children
.
Tuesday evenings in Huntington Beach they close Main Street for a farmer's type market...live music
Catch a concert at House of Blues
Bonfire on the beach
Surf lessons at Huntington Beach with Bill Sharp
An Angels or Ducks game
There are a ton of things to do.

I would go out to the orchards and pick some fresh oranges. Then later you can go to that new park, Walt Disney's Land. It has some really fun exhibits like Monsanto's Hall of Chemistry and The General Electric Carousel of Progress. Don't be scared to try some of the rides like the Submarine Voyage and Skyway to Fantasyland. My favorite is Tomorrowland. They have lots of neat stuff about what the future is going to be like. There is also a mouse there named Mickey that you'll never get tired of seeing as well as other lovable characters from cartoons and movies. Be sure to buy a souvenir hat with mouse ears on it to take home and show your neighbors.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'd looked at a whole bunch of events listing on-line but they were all weekend stuff. FUCKADOODLEDOO, I'll check that thingstodo.com website. EVILDOERS, you're pretty funny. I wouldn't go to Disney unless it was the last place happening. Too many kids. CACHECOUPLE, thanks for the suggestions. I'll have to check out Hunting Beach's market and your other ideas. My regional office is in La Palma so I'm there on weeknights quite frequently.

I grew up in that area. Not much to do in La Palma, although El Torito's on the corner of Valley View and Orangethorpe has a decent Sunday Brunch. It all depends on what you want to do. Long Beach isn't too far. Lots of nice restaurants and things to see and do there. Gardenwalk near Disneyland has some nice restaurants and bars as well. And like was said before, downtown Huntington Beach.
My favorite area would have to be 2nd Street in Long Beach. You can stagger from one bar to the next. Lots of scenery there as well!!! There's a restaurant on 2nd Street called Kelley's (with a backwards "K") that's nice.
