Any knowledge of a repeat of last years big Lake Powell trip? We'd love to attend this year!
Thanks
Thanks

We are definitely interested also. We have a boat to contribute.
Wouldn't mind making this trip either. I love to take our boat to Powell.
we don't have a boat, that sucks
We have a boat and could share
You don't have to have a boat to go.

Have boat... and could be up for a Powell adventure... what dates are being proposed?
-

A group should be started, Powell Trips
I second that idea :-)
We would be up for going again this year. We stayed on the houseboat last year but I'm not sure if Don or Rabbit are up organizing another trip this year. If the dates were right we would be interested in staying with someone and paying our share.

After last year I don't know if we are up for doing it again. He have enjoyed hosting it. If a date could be set and people would commit with up front deposits we might consider putting it together again. Some of our best memories are from the Powell Parties.
Lets take a vote and keep in touch with us.

We are in if I'm off work the weekend that's planned. I can give you my schedule if that helps.

DnC
We may not fit in. LOL .... Ours barely holds four! It's more engine than boat.
I suggest that people start throwing dates up that would work the best. That way we can find the time that would appeal to the majority.
To join in a trip like this you don't need a boat, adoptions work well.
House boats, personal boats or beach camping can all be used for places to stay.
For any one who has done this trip I would say has always had a great time (I know we have).
In short, if the interest is there....lets get to planing ;-)

Thanks! We wanted to attend last year but had to work the weekend it was scheduled and didnt have enough time to take it off. So we thought we'd get started on the plans now so if we work, we'll have enough time to schedule the days off.

For those that went last year, how did the 3rd weekend of July turn out? Would you go again around the same time or would you pick earlier or later in the summer?
Thanks.
Thanks.

hopefully it will be earlier than that, Sturgis is the first week in august it might be too close together for some folks, just throwing that out there
The date worked out ok (even with it being the 24th of july time in Utah). As for putting it close to Sturgis, some did pull it off last year. This is the kind of input that we need to set a date. There is a never a perfect one for everybody.
We're good with any weekend during June or July.
As far as houseboats are concerned, looks like the rentals are 50% off up til June 30 and after August 18th. The month of July up until August 18th they are 25% off.

We are already going for a week the second week of July but can leave the boat and come back
we can fit 2 more couples comfortably but would be sleeping in tents.

This is one of the reasons we need head counts and up front deposits. I get a great discount on the boats. The more boats the better the price. Figure $1,000. to 1,300. per couple for 4 days. This is a great rate when you figure the boat, fuel, food etc.
And if we are doing this again this year I need to know how big to let the pig grow.

That weekend was fine but July just sucks for us this year as far as work schedules. Our we talking Thurs-Sun again? If so, the last weekend in June would work and any weekend in August except the first one. We might be able to get off one the last two weekends of July but don't know yet.
TnT
Put us on the list. We would love to go!!
I think we should shoot for a Thursday to Sunday in June. Or even a Friday to Sunday if a day shorter would work.

Either of the last two weekend in June would word then, we could do Thurs-Sun or Fri-Sun either weekend. Four days would be the most fun though.
We would love to join in too!!
Maybe we should try and plan a M&G sometime soon for those that are interested in going. Buttabing if you guys come up for it you can stay with us so you don't have to get a hotel.

That is what we have done every year and it works well.
We can set a date and venue for the M&G. It must be on a Saturday night for us.
Oh and "TnT" we would love to crash at your place! ;-)
OK, it looks like the majority are saying the 3rd or 4th weekend in June. Now we need to set a date for a meet and greet in the Salt Lake area. This will give people a chance to meet other couples that have been before and couples that havn't to meet and ask questions about the trip. The largest asked question is...We would like to go, but we don't have a boat. Answer: You DO NOT need a boat to go. there are plenty of people with boats and you can be addopted.
This has always been one of the best ways to see Lake Powell with a great group of like minded people.
For any one that has questions comments or concerns just drop us a note. We will gladly be happy to answer any questions.

The 3rd or 4th weekend of June works great for us. How about March 30th or April 6th as a Meet n Greet date? How's everyone feel about either of those dates for the M&G?
We would like to join the trip timing sounds good. We have a boat and truck to pitch in we can have couples ride with us if need be. was just curious because we new to the swingers thing. is it balls to the walls or what happens happens no push or a free for all lets hang and have fun.Would also like to know what to bring so can plan.

We went last year for the first time and didn't play with anyone, but you could if you want. We had a great time but its defiantly a what happens happens event.
If the date works were in, we'll sleep on our boat like we did last year but are more than willing to contribute to the houseboat as well.

It's a pain to read through this whole thread, but it looks like the trip is June 20-23 or June 27-30 and the meet and greet is March 30 or April 6.
If we can weigh in, June 27-30 works for us (but we could make the other June date work too) and the only M&G date we can make is March 30.
I love Lake Powell

we dont have house boat just some tents and a speed boat but sounds great. march 30 sounds good for a meet and great looking foreword to a good time. Hope that works for all.
Anytime except for July 4th!! We will be at Lake Mead that week... (.)(.)

It's a fun time with a chance for a hook up if you are looking for one. No group I have ever been with would put pressure on anyone to do something they didn't want to do. Last year was very low key and people hooked up but it was never a wild crazy party. Lots of nudity and fun flirting but never any pressure to do anything.
PLAYNW3 thanks for dragging me behind your boat last year, hopefully I can get you to do it again.
Of course we are in. There's a small chance I'll be out of the country in June but it's more likely that I'll be here so I think we prefer June over July. We are leaving our boat at Bullfrog all summer this year so if anyone wants to put in there and make the trek downstream with us, let us know. March 30th works for a M&G as well.
Jiggy: Don't worry about being pressured to do anything. This is one of the funnest times you'll have on the lake. You can be as clothed or naked as you feel comfortable with and everyone know's that no means no. The scenery is AMAZING!!! The landscape ain't bad either. ;-)

Thank you for the input from those that went years past.
It looks like meet and greet for march 30th and the event to be June 27th - 30th.
There has been some great input so far about pressure etc. We do stay on a beach up lake so it is tents or boats. It depends on how many people want to stay on house boats as to how many of those we need. You can rent rooms on the house boats or rent the facilities (bathroom shower etc.). Diners are planed for the group breakfast and lunch are on your own.

So we need to figure out where we want to have our meet and greet on March 30th.
Damn, that'll leave us out. That's the weekend after the Idaho Regatta. Don't think the MRS. can get that much time off that close together.
Hopefully we can make it next year.

Is there any Idea where to hold the m&g yet. So we can plan for the trip up north
We have always done it at Totems in years past.
Where is Totems at Haven't heard of it
Totems is on North Redwood road below north Temple. We are open to other locations.
That sounds good to us
The nice thing about Totem's is you can have a conversation there without have to scream over the music.

We couldn't do it that weekend. We actually will be there that whole week but it's our fmaily reunion down there. I have been going to LP my whole life and my only compliant about late June is that it seems to be so much more windy than other times in the year. Noticed that there a few who couldn't go that weekend either. Anyone been in October? That is my favorite time to go, air temp is great, water temp is great and the lake isn't nearly as crowded. If anyone is up for a second trip a weekend in October we would love to go then. We have a house boat though we usually boat in (with our little boat) and camp on the beach in October. We have a litte 5 seater twin engine jet boat that is killer spead and has a little wake so it is great to ski behind. Bummed to miss the summer trip but would be up for a trip in October
Nice.. We have an 18' 2-4 seat jet boat (actually we have three boats, only one running). Ours has a nice 489ci BBC. It might be a little annoying to some here. It's kind of loud.
We would love to express our interest in joining the group for the trip. Unfortunatly we do not have a boat, but we will be more than happy to pay our share to join. Let us know if you can plan the trip and dates, so everyone can look at thier free dates to be there....
Thanks
Thanks
I just noticed that March 30th is Easter weekend and that will not work for a meet and greet. I'm so use to Easter being in April I didn't pay much attention. What other date works for everyone?
How about April 6th the following weekend?
Gina the April 6th is for the Meet n Greet not the actually Lake Powell trip. Anyone else have an issue with the April 6th date for a M&G?

Our boat isn't too loud unless you're on it, then it can be a little louder than others, like being on a jet skiWe're taking ours down to Havasu for Spring break this year, fast and loud boats seem to fit in down there
If your up for it we should all go down there for Spring Break, the view is really nice
Sound slike we have some thing sin common too, we have 2 boats only 1 running
Being a California transplant, I remember going to Havazoo when I was younger. Sure isn't the same as it was then. I'd be afraid of taking my boat there with all the big ballers down there now. I'd get swamped or run over!! LOL
Definitely need to get together somewhere. We haven't gone to Yuba yet. Been down to Price a number of times for football though.
BTW, sorry for the threadjack

I will keep checking. We would love on be going on a houseboat trip on LP. Please keep us in Mind!!
We love every one that has gone or that wants to go. With that being said it takes a lot of Tim and up front money to make this happen. We need to start getting a lot more positive response on people wanting to do this for us to put it together (for those who have been before you understand).
We are thinking the meet and greet at Totems on April 6th with the event to be the last week of June. It seems like a long time but its not for organization.
Please chin in and or send us mail to let us know.
We would love to do it again but it takes the support from everyone.

One more thread break, this this yearly trip started with people from Hot Boat, for a few years there was a poker run from south end of the lake up to around Oak. Last year everyone was more interested in getting naked in the water so it went away, there were some great day trips that ended up naked in the water also

I remember the thread on both HB & RC!!! I was jealous! Hopefully next year. Hope you guys all have fun this year!
I am going to be sending all of you that expressed interest in the Powell trip a friend invite to make it easier to mass email you the trip information.

Looks like I'll be around so we are in for the trip in June.
If I could offer a couple of suggestions to the plan....how bout we do something more like potluck for dinner instead of 2 or 3 couples planning and providing all the meals and hoping to get paid back. I know you guys got stuck with quite a bill last year and that wasn't cool. I'm not sure how it would work with a big group and being on the lake but I think it could happen.
The other suggestion is for those wanting to go. If you are serious and you need a room on a house boat, please commit now. These guys go through hell trying to get that end of it put together and I can only immagine the frustration when people say they want a room and then back out at the last minute. If you don't need a room but will be using the facilities, let them know that as well.
This is an amazing party and each year has been one to remember. We hope that it's a huge success again this year and can't wait to see everyone again and also make some new friends.

You guys will be greatly missed! Maybe something will work out and you can at least come up for a day or two. Fingers crossed.

Glade to here you will be able to go.
On the meal thing pot luck is in for at least one night. That has worked out ok but the 2nd and 3rd nights hasn't worked so well but we are willing to give it a try. For the Pig night I have some other ideas in mind to keep the tradition but that will be much easier.

That sounds like so much fun, we love lake powell. Hopefully this is an open invite and you all plan on doing this next year because we would really like to go.
Last week in June works for us. We have room for another couple for day trips and sightseeing but they will need a tent. This should be fun.

The Lake Powell party is June 27-30. If you are doing the houseboat thing, you can board the night of the 26th....BUTTABING correct me if I'm wrong on that. This year we will be leaving our boat at Bullfrog all summer so we will be down there sometime on the 26th and head downstream early on the 27th.
The M&G is on April 6th at Totems in Salt Lake.

That would be correct. If we get enough people I will set up pre-board for the first night.
For those who are serious we need to start getting a confirmed list together for those who are going with their own boats, those who are going and need to be adopted onto a boat and those who are staying on a house boat.
Please send us a message with your response.
Thank you all. As every year this trip is a blast!
