If a person were to offer his services free of charge, and also offer to advance the $$$ for materials in order to complete a construction renovation to better an establishment for the pleasure and enjoyment of others, be told afterwards that he could not pay. Yes ladies and gentlmen, this person does exist.
It is probably none of my business but when most people start a post they intend to have the rest of us understand it. I guess I am thick because I have no idea what you are trying to say. Maybe you could edit it and help us out?
Maybe it's supposed to be a puzzle.
I agree with Aged: this is the USA in 2012; of course you don't need to pay your debts.

Im still trying to figure out what were talking about
from what I get from this is that someone (person A) offered his services for free and to pay upfront for the materials... and then after work was completed person B told A that he was not able to pay... which leaves Nice guy A loosing again!
Well for those who had trouble understanding the Situation, Let Me try to explain. I offered to help a Friend upgrade his establishment in order to better the lifestyle for others who attend. My offer was to simply provide my construction experience to help complete a 5 bdrm 2 bath renovation in a basement. In addition to my offer of free labor, I also offered to purchase all materials at a discount. It was agreed upon verbablly that this Friend would reimburse me for all materials upon completion of the project which He Didn't. The renovation was completed and everyone was very impressed and commented What a Beautiful Addition to the house. After a Long Battle in Court and District Court; Justice was Served and a Judgemet against this person was entered into the District court. Thank you all for your input and views. Finally a Fair Justice system has worked for the Small Guy.
Glad things worked out for you. It always sucks when you try to help out someone and end up getting cheated. I was going to say screwed, but you probably didn't get that either.

You lost a friend and now you will never collect. Try hitting him with a bat might not get your money still but it will make you feel better.
I am going to pat angles10 on the back and give them praise for not dragging the persons name and profile name from here through the muck. That is Yet. There is still time to do that and I for one would not blame them if he did so.
There is a difference in the swinger community between screwing a friend and screwing them over. There is a huge distance between getting a judgment and collecting a debt. However, when good people find that a business man has poor ethics they tend to shy away from his or her business.
That unnamed person has personally complained, in my presence, how others have treated and cheated him. I would have thought that he would not put someone else in this kind of situation. I know money is tight for him but he should work out a way to pay what he owes angles10. I would even suggest a public apology would be in order.

Talking with Judge Judy would say that this is a case of WRITE IT DOWN and SIGN A CONTRACT. Otherwise you will be cheated. Even the best of friends can have this happen from time to time in life. Rather one takes advantage and the other does not or vise versa. So, I go with write and sign everything in the most legal ways. Research and sometimes follow your gut feeling....when it is too good to be true it probably is.....but, you will be amazed not everyone is trying to screw you. It happens on all levels....even human evolution.....One species cancels out another to make a evolutionary change for the survival of the next generation. Luckily, we can ask Judge Judy as she must be the expert...hehehe
I agree with everyone on this thread, however, I still would like to believe that most people stick to their word and treat people with respect and friendship. I applaud Angels10 for being the type of person that helps out when needed and I hope he continues to do so.... with a little more caution.
