I have recently become completely, and utterly disgusted with the two party system we currently have. I have never really thought much about looking for another group to side with as I felt I was republican most my life until the current two polished turds I've been watching on TV tipped the scale with unprecedented falsifications in their debates which honestly have led me to believe that neither actually understand the economic issues themselves.

It has to make you wonder if we are just looking at two puppets whose strings are hidden very well by foreign puppeteers. I've been looking into the Libertarian party's Wiki page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libertarian_Party_%28United_States%29) as well as, Gary Johnson's, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Johnson). I was wondering what some of you think regarding the party. Personally, I have a few things my mindset seems to really conflict within this party.

The allowance of deregulated banking.
I think big banking has truly disrupted the middle class through unfair lobbying, housing fraud, and corrupt business policy. I was once charged $350 for a $2 overdraft. I am not kidding. When I went to my local courthouse to protest this by filing a personal lawsuit, I was told that was just how they do it.

I felt that 9-11 required a response from us as it was an affliction to everyone's liberty, and was a international interventionism. I am ex-military, and although I do not agree with prolonged campaigns that destroy other governments as that right to oppose it should be it's people's, if they support intervention in my country through terrorism, If allowed, I would be back with my brothers, and sisters in a minute to light their asses up for it.

As for the rest of it, I'm pretty much on board. Government should not have a stance on marriage, no stance on prostitution, gambling, and especially they should not have any stance whatsoever on the internet censorship that is on it's way through right now.

So how do you feel about this party? Until yesterday, I had not given it much thought. How many of you are saying the same thing right now?
Been a Libertarian for years.
I don't agree with everything they support, but I doubt that anyone agrees with 100% of what their party wants if they actually know what their party wants.
I have a hard time swallowing the total legalization of drugs that I see some libertarians pushing. I don't think that is in the country's best interest. Other than that, I am firmly behind most everything else that they stand for.

The people that run this country these days certainly do not seem to have the best interest of the average working American at heart. We do need a change.

Many years ago, I spent a fair amount of time pondering the US Constitution. The only flaw that I found was that it failed to prescribe penalties for those who chose to violate it. I could find no other concept of government that I thought was better. I think that a return to our constitutional roots is the best direction that we, as a nation, could possibly turn. The Libertarians seem to be the best option that we have at this time to help us move in that direction.
