Swingers Forum - Are there any active RP gamers here?

Since we're covering Sci-Fi so well, I am interested in who here plays role-playing games (the papers & pencils & dice types, guys...;) )

I have been an active RP Game Master for 28 years now, and I still run several different systems on a semi-regular basis.

Is anyone else willing to 'fess up that they still game?

Yep, hubby and I are avid gamers. We've got three and a half shelves on bookcases devoted to gaming books... and more in boxes.

Just another way to escape 'reality' and enjoy something else for a while.

We've got quite a few RIFTS books, as well as GURPS and D20 Modern/future and of course D&D, both Advanced and 3rd Edition. All the original D&D books are in storage, as we don't want them destroyed by the kids.

We've got Star Wars, Star Trek, Twilight:2000 and several others as well...

The funny thing is I never even started playing until I met J...

Don't really do the paper rpg's any more, but we both play a on-line computer game called City of Heroes/City of villians. We've done Everquest and the Star Wars Galaxies too.

Tandvplay
He plays online CoD, as well as Star Wars and WoW....

Wish he would spend that kind of attention on me lol ;)
I haven't "paper" gamed in years... But for about 3 years after my group stopped "paper" gaming, we started regularly playing live-action games. That is, we went out and physically played the game, with some of the group setting up a nearby park and wooded/canal/rocky/swampy area with treasures, power-cards, etc... About half of us were "the other team" and played monsters and other characters each time. Had a blast doing that, and have often wondered what happened to everyone else in the group, because it was actually more fun doing it in person than sitting around a table.

Ahhh, I remember being a "Gaming Nerd" fondly...
LOL Aegis, i do something like that now almost every other weekend its called the SCA,
although we dont fight monsters per say it is all knights and barbarians, with armor and swords ( rattan pratice swords) and it is a blast
Neither of us are active any longer, don't have any time for it anymore. He used to be into DnD. Me, I used to Mud alot, even helped run one for a while.

PS. Speaking of confessions... who used to (or still does) ISCA?...
Yeah, I did SCA for a while too... Ended up RUNNING away from it, because of all the politics and people taking it far too seriously. I mean who the heck wants to hang around with people who MAKE you talk to them as if they really were in the 14th Century ALL the time? Their little rules and regs for who is important and who isn't is set up to make it a club with only a small amount of insiders. If you like it, you must be in a group that doesn't go for that.

But what I was talking about was closer to life-sized D&D than the SCA.
My wife and I, and another lifestyle couple we know all play WOW, or World of Warcraft. I mean this in all sincerity if you like RPGs, or MMorpgs WOW is the best one. period. I played EQ 4 years, have tried SWG, Daoc, CoH, and several others.. this, for the visuals and story, destroys them all. If you want more info, or if you do actually start playing feel free to contact me here, for server info, since, as nerdy as this sounds, I am a guild master....and adding more peeps in the lifestyle would rock.
If you want to talk computer games for a moment, I am an avid Guild Wars player (I'm cheap, don't like paying monthly fees) but that's about it for me. I'd love to try WoW but like I said, I'm just cheap.

It's good to know there's other geeks out here. We don't feel so alone anymore...

We both are WoW junkies...mr is just not the same man once he hit lvl 60. :)
I would love to find another group for Dungeons and Dragons.
Hello all,

Miss them. Was a great way to exscape reality for a while you know?

Brian & Donna

Oh yeah Definately. Rift's, Warhammer RPG, Warhammer Skirmish, Quest. Shadowrun. We have also done SCA, the Adriatic Empire, Amtgard and Belegarth. Currently into the online games of City of Heroes and City of Villians on the Pinnacle server and WoW on Kirin Tor. :D

Oh yeah and how could I forget Diablo2. Got my sons hooked on that one as well LOL
Brian here...hehe rather strange subject for swing site but hey and ya i have played them and still have alot everything from D&D AD&D MTG Rifts and on down the line but paper and pencil just cant compete with online games nowadays im currently into WOW Europe , D2 classic and LOD on Europe servers , StarCraft (and soon to be Starcraft Ghost) , War Craft 3 , Matrix online , Star Wars Galaxies and a few more. :D
and she likes D2LOD.
Hubby is a huge gamer. He plays AD&D every Sunday. He also play lots of computer games. We too are cheap so he doesn't do WoW or Evercrack. (LOL) But he plays Diablo and Daiblo 2. I also highly recommend Baurd's Tale that recently came out. It's hysterical!!
I used to play alot, but have relocated a few times since then and haven't found players in my area...
