Who else is having troubles with the chat room? By looking at the amount of people in there lately it must be many. We have not been able to get the cam to work for a week, now we can't even sign in. Would love to hear who else is having troubles. Thanks, Angela
Us too. Half the time our cam won't work for the first few minutes, then finally pops up, and even when our mic is off we get a horrible feedback sound from other cams. Not to mention how many times you have to click just to respond to the person you are chatting with.
We downloaded the V11 and we were able to sign in, cam only worked half the time, now we can't even sign in. When we click the Video Chat nothing happens at all. This is getting old

For us, the "Enter Video Chat" isn't working. We can't even view the link to open it into another browser.
Everyone needs to message Admin as we have. If enough people complain, maybe they will fix it or change it back to something similar to what it was. We have noticed as well that not nearly as many are using the chatroom now. Ourselves included. There's already enough shit being thrown back and forth in the forums, that sometimes it's nice to find a great conversation or two in the chatroom, but now??? Hmmmm.

For us, the "Enter Video Chat" isn't working. We can't even view the link to open it into another browser.
Well, FIRERIDER - that's not true in our case.
We meet and talk with a LOT of central Florida folks here.

Hello everyone. Here is an update with the Chat Room. Apparently, there has been some issues with some of you not being able to get in. We are working with the developers of the application to get this resolved. At the moment, we are not 100% sure of the cause of the issues but part of it has been attributed to the fact that Adobe, the makers of the flash player, have released some new updates that have broken the chat software. With each new update, Adobe has found a way to cause problems with existing software and the developers are scrambling to find solutions.
Also, because the chat uses flash for web cams and our servers run the latest Adobe Flash server software, it became a requirement that all end users have the latest Flash Player, version 11. Unfortunately, Adobe has not released a version 11 for Mac OSx 10.4 or 10.5. Again, this prevents those users from using the latest applications that use flash. Another Adobe issue.
So with that in mind, we are doing what we can to get around all the problems that Adobe is having to come up with a solution. We hope to have something before the end of the week.
Thanks.

The end of Adobe Flash.
Adobe is moving away from flash to HTML5. Swingular admin would be advised to find another solution.
For those that are interested in learning more I would start with the following or google adobe flash end of life.

Your information is only partially correct. Flash will exist for years and years because of the many websites that still utilize it. HTML 5 is not 100% ready to do everything that flash can do. The main reason that you won't see a chatroom convert to HTML5 is because HTML5 does not support webcams and live video as needed by a chat room. Flash is the only platform that can deliver this currently and still be compatible with every computer without adding additional software. It will probably be another 5 plus years before something even comes close with HTML5.
As for your article and information about Adobe giving up Flash, that is only in the MOBILE market, not the desktop market. Even bigger sites like Youtube will still use flash as it's the only way they can show their advertising without the end user trying to bypass it. With HTML5, there is no secure way to stream protected content such as movies right now that is 100% effective.
So in the end, Flash will be here for many years to come.

Yes I know and I understand the curve and the end of life process. I have been in the business of computers for 30 years and some of my friends program for major vendors like Microsoft. You would still be wise to take some friendly advice to look at other solutions as they become available.
As you know, the benefit of Flash was its cross platform functioning.
It is possible that because of the speech that Steve Jobs gave before his death that the Apple computer Operating Systems will not have flash updates available to them. That does not mean that Apple will not have web cams. It just means that they may not run on flash.
Adobe is pissed at Apple and that means Iphones, Ipads, Ibooks, and all Computers from Apple may not work with your video within a year or less as well as Android and other smart phones that are scheduled for phase out by Adobe.
Since I don't use Apple products for video, I could care less. But I am sure that the loss will impact your chat and many of your customers. Some browsers will have their own code for camera support and you will be forced to use more complex routines in your software.
If you think you will have 5 years before Adobe kills your cross platform webcams by dropping Flash, I think you will be caught short. Windows 8 is in beta and will be released this year. It is still to be determined how flash will interact with it.
Any way, enough said.
We have friends that are members of the site and they are able to go into the chat room on our computers without any troubles. It is our profile, NOT our computers since they can go in with their screen name and we can not. WTF?

Not enough people in the chat room....why go in there!? We don't get any replies on this site anyway....not many people in central Florida looking to "Chat or Meet". Oh well....
I must agree! Plus the ones that are think there riding a high horse. Sorry to tell them but we put our pants the same way one leg at a time. I know am a single male and we ae hated on but theres no reason y we should be ignored. Dont flatter yourself thinking every man wants to have sex. When i give a compliment it nice to hear a thank you! plus everyone in central FL is lame. No sence of fun.
I use Chrome as my primary browser and find the chat rooms unusable for me. The box appears asking for permission to access my cam...and I am unable to do anything...accept/deny...or even close...I have to close out the page...When I use Firefox I don't have these issues...
wrote to the admin...states I am the only one with this problem...lol...and then I see this thread with other people having issues...perhaps not MY issue but clearly there are issues with chat

I have serviced computers since 1983. There are various bugs and Trojans that affect browsers and Microsoft Internet Explorer is not the only browser that gets targeted. No program catches all the bugs that target the Windows Platform and there may be other programs that will do the same things.
Currently there are 3 tools that I and my techs use on a constant basis. They do not solve all the problems but are generally safe for the end user to use. They should be run in the order given and set for a complete sweep of the hard drive. All other programs should be closed when running these programs.
Malwarebytes has a free version and the others have or have had a 30 day trial that was free and fully functional. Google the products and carefully choose the download sites. Some sites are confusing and want to have you download other programs that require payment. Other programs may or may not accomplish the same things.
These three programs are the best that we have found to date. The first two clean out bugs that affect the browser and the third repairs the errors in the registry. After running these on hundreds of computers we have never had a computer that was made worse by using them although they are not capable of cleaning or solving all browser errors.
Run first in standard mode and then run in safe mode for those that will run in safe mode. Running them will clean out your history and cookies in the process as well as removing infections.
Malwarebytes anti-malware [mbma.exe from malwarebytes.org]
Both free and purchased products are safe.
Webroot Spysweeper or Secure Anywhere [webroot.com]
Secure Anywhere combines Spysweeper and adds Anti-virus protection. We have switched our recommendations from Norton and MacAfee to this product.
Pc Tools Registry Mechanic [pctools.com]
Pc Tools has a 30 day money back guarantee. I do not recommend their combination product.
Good Luck.

Don't get out much, do you?
Well that was fun reading. Some drama in here for sure. Thanks for the feedback on why I cant access the chatroom, I will try the adobe route and see for myself. It is a bummer when updates screw everything up. Stay happy.
Great work Administration for helping us feel part of Swingular! Regardless of the problems being addressed at Swingular, it is commendable Swingular is communicating with members about the problems. Furthermore, it takes great courage to allow this post to stand without yielding to temptation to take it down and attempt to hide member frustration. Instead, they faced this head-on with the members. (Not an easy thing to do.) This made me feel more like a part of Swingular and not just being used by them. This act of courage and dedication to the members alone, makes me feel more like hanging on and give you more than a fair chance.
In order to build a great social group you must feel part of the group. This shows Admin. is interested in building this site with the members concerns, rather than just being the dictators of the site.

Being in the computer business doesn't necessarily mean you know programming and your friends aren't you.

By the time Flash does start to disappear, which will not happen for many years to come, I'm sure we will have another solution in place.
I've been programming computers, websites, flash, html5, java, php, asp.net, c++, c# for 20 years. I know what is available and what isn't. I keep up on the latest technologies available and I do my homework. I appreciate the comments and tips but I assure you, we are on top of it and will embrace whatever solution comes around. No need to scare the members into worrying about something that may not happen within 5 years.
