You both have valid viewpoints but neither side will win this argument because in some ways you are both wrong as you are both right. What we were supposed to have was a government of the people and by the people. Too many of the people have abdicated their responsibility for convenience.
I have great respect for the man or woman that is willing to die for their country. That respect is not limited to soldiers alone. But include police and firemen and every day folks. To me honor is given to any person that is willing to put it all on the line to save a friend a stranger or child. A veteran is someone that has served the people to the best of their ability. At the very least the veteran has not always gone the convenient route by believing in something greater than self. That does not mean that he or she has to believe that every thing they are required to do is right and just. There will always be unjust wars and unjust laws.
