OK, I just have to throw out something I have been noticing alot. A bunch of people seem to rag on Utah and say that everyone here is judgemental and that this place is hard to live in. I have just read in alot of posts that they dont know how or where to meet like minded people.
First , I think this site is a perfect start, or a bar, or whatever it is yall like to do, start there. Maybe its because I live in Ogden, but i havent really met, or have anyone in my life who really judges me for what i think or do....Maybe its because I have a good radar for cool peoples lol. And just make friends who i know are non-judgemental..Anyways I am not from here (been here 10 years though) but I fairly well like this place! And there are alot of Swingers here, which i find to be the best attribute of any place!!!
Sorry for the rant, just my rambling for the month
i like the way u say/see things ! that's what love is all about ! respect !
Living down here in Utah county can be a challenge at times. There are some good people here, but the majority belong to the dominant religion, and are not very accepting of anyone that doesnt live the way they do. We've experienced the "nose in the air" syndrome many times.
I guess it all depends on the area you live in as to whether you run into that kind of thing or not. We love the proximity to the lakes and mountains here, and that's why we have stayed in this area.
We wouldn't want to live anywhere else as we love the outdoors and the seasons here.
Anywhere you live, people will rag on the location. We choose to define where we live, not vice versa. Don't worry about the rest, just live your life!
I can think of no better definition of arrogance than religion. (They have the
Ok, I had better start this with the info that I have lived here most of my life I am ex-LDS. So I have lived on both sides of the fence. My family lived in Saint Paul for awhile and the Catholic church runs things there. There leadership does not get as involved as the LDS leadership does but it does greatly affect how things go there. The same can be said about the Baptists that control much of the southern bible belt.

I admit that there is a big difference in how right wing the LDS church is and how it mixes it
We have experienced the LS in Utah and out of Utah and it's a bit different if you are coming from NY, Vegas, FL, or Cali, open minded is in the eye of the beholder and yes Utah in My opinion is way different on this subject, at the same time Utah is different in many other aspects, so why it would be any different in the lifestyle...? BTW we have enjoyed and enjoy the lifestyle in Utah but have to be honest here, we have agreed that we like the lifestyle better while being in other states and have noticed other levels of open mind not seen often here... i just think it's just a culture thing, no good nor bad..
Mr. DB
Couldn't resist throwing a comment in here. I've lived here (Ogden) my entire life and I've been able to make great connections with some very awesome people. I have friends and contacts from 18-80 and I find that there isn't much difference from the "liberal" or "conservative" communities. The only difference is in the individual people that you meet and associate with. Probably count for count, I've been shunned or attacked by as many people in the "lifestyle" that are NOT very open minded as I have been by religious "non-lifestyle" types....so, I don't see any difference. I say it's all about the person/s that you meet and are willing to make a friendship with.

Making valuable connections to other people isn't always about sex... I don't have sex with all my friends. Unfortunately though, I do find that in the "lifestyle"...that if people aren't willing to have sex with you, they would discard you more quickly than a religious nut, that finds something interesting about you. Go figure.

If people wares them 3 sizes smaller than they should it makes no difference... lol jk
(From the Mr) I've lived in 8 different cities in 5 different states. Never have I been welcomed like I have been in Utah.

Shortly after marrying, I moved my lovely new bride to Utah. We bought an old "fixer-upper" home. Right after moving in we were out sweating and toiling in the summer sun to fix the place up. I was by the house, wife digging and planting by the road. Neighbor walked up. Asked wife, "Are you an LDS family?" Ah, well, no actually," my wife honestly answers. "HUH," states neighbor, turning on heel and walking away. We later learned that we'd just met the local LDS Bishop.

Welcome to Utah.
What religion IS tolerant of swinging?
We like the fact that as swingers in Utah we have this dirty little secret that we have and we can sneak around (not unlike a cheating spouse we imagine) behind our neighbors, family and the Church's back doing all sorts of evil deeds and loving every minute of it. We've met TONS of Mormon "refugees" like ourselves who are so happy and excited to finally have the yoke of the Church off our backs that we go quite wild and enjoy our debauchery all the more. Other areas we've lived and "swung" don't quite have the same naughty feel as though we're getting away with something quite forbidden. So yeah, a lot of living in Utah can be a compromise and some of it downright sucks but overall it's extremely fun being EXTREMELY bad here. ;-)

It still amazes me that there are more "open minded" people living in Utah than there are living in the Vegas area. Maybe it's just that the ones in Vegas have to hide their true feelings. I've ridden my Harley through almost every county in Utah and have to say, I've NEVER seen more beautiful sights than the ones in the State of Utah. It just seems a shame that there are so many "Religion Fanatics' in Utah.
[quote=ARELONG41]I think this is the best one of the bunch, like I said before, moving from Oregon, Utard is like another planet, because of the LDS bull shit and retards, other than that, all I need to know is where the elk are, but make sure Im doing everything right, because someone might rat me out. [quote=JIMTOO]I can think of no better definition of arrogance than religion. (They have the
The state is in a great mixed geographical area. I just sometimes wonder how it would be if it was still part of Texas. I find it sad at how the individual borg members are not allowed to express their opinions.. Afraid to actually. Afraid of being outcast in their own families if they question anything. Just look at examples of Folks who leave the church. And how hypocritical is it to drink like a fish out on sat night but raise your kids to think strong drink is bad for you.. How many keep a locked cabinet in the bedroom and drink wine in bed after the kids go to sleep.. We think this is wrong. Tell you parents they are wrong. Risk losing that inheritance from Grandpa or aunt minnie.. Break the cycle. Have some balls!
I've come to realize over the last 40 yrs that the people who are the most religious happen to be the same ones who can't accept the realities of life without the guilt and/or crutch of having someone, or some group, to "GUIDE THEM", however wrong it may be. And the MOST religious ones also happen to be the same ones who have a dirty little secret to hide. For example; a girlfriend on the side, a homosexual lover, etc. Take a look at Jimmy Swaggert, Jeff Warrens from the Hillside/Zion group, Tammy Fay Baker and her ex, Jim Baker, any of the Muslim religions who hide their women in veils from public view and treat them like chattel, while homosexuality is OK, the Catholic Church and it's Priests, etc, etc. I worked for the owner of a large Auto Dealership chain who claimed he was very religious, a big shot in his church, went to church every Wednesday and Sunday, but who also had been screwing his secretary, AND... his office manager for years before his wife found out and divorced him, costing him BIG, BIG BUCKS, and almost half of his dealerships, along with his standing in the community. "Don't do as I do.....do as I TELL you to DO! There have been more wars fought and more people killed over religious beliefs than anything else....... even politics. Personally, I only answer to myself. I know when I've done right by everybody, and I know when I've done wrong. Ultimately....I have only myself to blame or answer to, and only myself to judge. It's not a perfect world but it's the only one we've got. The ones who preach forgiveness and tolerance are the same ones who are the most likely to not give it. Things always work in opposite somehow. We should be here for a GOOD time, we're not here for a LONG time. Answer only to yourself, and what's right for you. And on that note, Elvis is leaving this post...."Thank You, Thank You very much"......LOL.
