Not a fun topic we know so dont post here unless you think it is important and have been tested since July 1st.
It is rather painless and they dont stick a swab up your dick!

DW, IT does sound like you guys are thinking about these important things. It will be interesting to see how many folks can and will post on this thread!
That is Great Mon! ANd if I remember you are an old timer? We do need to be careful when saying ALL CLean. I dont think very many folks are getting tested for all of the commonly occurring things. Such at Trickomoniasis http://www.cdc.gov/std/trichomonas/stdfact-trichomoniasis.htm and HSV (Genital Herpes).
The main killer would be HIV and it is so easily tested for.. Just a pin prick and a drop of blood and results visible in 15 mins and get a printout right then at planned Parenthood only 15$ there really is no excuse not to get this done everyone!
Then there is Hep and everyone should get the shots if they are going to play as this is incurable.
Lots of kids are getting this in their shots.. Health care workers do also.
Of course the next most important one is probably HSV as it is incurable and not such a nice thing to live with.. The test i expensive and pos results dont always mean you have the Gential herpes or are even ever going to have breakouts. I am not expert on this.

not sure what "full blood work" would be but that sounds like a general health screening??
Did you tell your provider what your hobby is?

I've had blood taken for STD testing before. They took several vials of blood as well as doing swabs and everything else.
Full blood work is generally health screening, but you can ask them to include STD testing as well.
Oh, and last May for me.

Mine was specifically STD testing. Mighta been where I got it done? dunno.
My girl was shooting Adult films for a while so we know about AIMS tests. We both are inoculated for A&B hep, most Dr's do not even pull a Hep C or D either, unless you have symptoms or come up positive for HIV or in a high risk category such as I.V drug use, constantly getting tattoos or sex (Anal or Gay). For one the tests are expensive, especially if you are low rent customers (clinics). F.Y.I Hep C is not passed sexually it is blood born, or can actually be contracted from alcohol abuse, unlike HIV or Heb B (body fluids). As well as Hep B when combined with Hep C becomes Hep D found mostly in countries like Haites, Costa Rica, ect... Not that the USA is exempt by any means.
As an alcoholic who had Hep B from some sex, contracts hep C as a result from pickling ones Liver is at great risk for Hep D.
Dr says Clamydia and Syphilis are on the rise out there. Those are transmitted via Saliva/body fluids too.(so... kissing at the bar?)
Good news about AIDS though a new operation or bone marrow transplant done in Greece to a man who had it for 15 years got said Bone marrow t-plant from someone who is immune to HIV/AIDS and was cured 100%. Talking about a new outlook on life..Right?
Usually when you ask for a std panel a lot of Dr's omit Herpes too (unless requested) because if you ever had a cold sore (ANY simplex virus) it will flag and your insurance (if you got it) will be notified as well as the CDC in the county you live in. Per Dr. Doc says; "If you got Herpes you will know it." For us, No cold sores ever. I actually asked her when we first started to go out before I kissed her. Too funny right? Went like this:.... "Umm have you ever had a cold sore or do you ever get cold sores when the weather changes?" LOL! Not at the moment but in prior conversation.
We prefer to use protection anyways, if you want skin grab your partner. If you want fantasy then cover it, it is all in the mind anyways. IMHO
By covering it you also protect from UTI's and whatever foreign bacteria the other may have as well. Or a lot of people cheat, not saying we do or you do, the statistics show an average of 60% of couples do, so that test may not be accurate anyways. Or you can live in a bubble like J Travolta! I study Ayurveda is why I am up on this BTW.
I know you asked about who is recent for tests, I was just giving those a heads up about the tests and what they really cover.

We did our test the last March 2011 and we are 100% clean (and we want to stay that way),we had no reason for do it again because we did not meet anybody from August 2010,so is been 1 year we don't have sex with other people. So couple single men and girl what are you wait to invite us for have some sexy fun all together?
I have had my all my hep shots from having babies its a shot they give regularly too.
My kids are up to date on those shots as well.
We have both been tested and clean in the last few months.
I have no time to get sick as my life has so much involved so we take our health very seriously!!!
I do not like even playing if I have a common cold or flu in that week or so after.
Its only fair to play when no one feels sick after. No one wants to feel ichy after having a fun night!!

HANDM, you said many true things.. And the part about the kissing is true and gets more true once folks have kissed 10 others that night or go below the waist for the night... We wont be kissing strangers!
HIV and Hep B are both blood born pathogens as well as Hep C. While the virus is present in some carriers saliva it is in too small of a concentration to be a health risk. There are NO KNOWN CASES of HIV being transmitted by saliva without blood present. Hep B may be transmitted by saliva if injected directly into the blood stream, like from a bite.
Hepatitis D is unrelated to A, B, or C. It can not replicate or transmit without the presence of Hep B.
Alcohol Hepatitis is an inflammatory liver condition caused by prolonged use of ethanols.
Hepatitis E is contracted through solid matter waste contaminating drinking water.
Most doctors will not pull additional tests unless they are requested, especially for STD's or blood born pathogens. However if you request it most insurance companies do cough up the money without issue. If you work in ANY environment where blood is a possibility you should be tested regardless of sexual partners.

Also.. HSV tests will not sow positive results for 6 to 8 weeks after exposure to HSV2. So just because you are testing negative does not mean you do not have it. So if your going to get tested, wait 6 to 8 weeks after having sex with someone outside you and your husband before getting tested for HSV2, that is if you want to know for sure.
Reality, 1 in 4 American's have HSV2. Reality, the number is higher in our community, due to lack of education and lack of standard testing at Planned Parent hood and most medical clinics. There is a high likely hood that you've already played with someone that has HSV2 you just may have got lucky and not contracted it. So testing is great, but if you play with someone new and it's outside of a closed relationship, then you need to protect yourself and your partner.

I just wish there were no STD's... Then just try to imagine the World!! Maybe no War??
Reality beckons. Great info here so far. I concur with it all the but the Hep stuff kinda is out of my research area? Correct me if I am wrong but I thought hep was a low risk as long as no IV drug users or drunks and you get a hep B shot sequence?? Is that right.
The HIV tests are so fast and easy and inexpensive that there should be no reason for a swinger to ever transfer that one. However cost is relative and it worries me that some players cant even afford a cover charge at a bar??
IT is nice to get everyone's input on this topic as it seems to not be one potential couples want to discuss even if before hand in emails and or chat?
I do notice one thing and really so far not many folks tested in the last 2 months...
IT would be nice to find folks who are tested and only play with other tested folks and not to many.

ha-HA! i finally get to post here. i feel proud. as of aug 30, 2011, we are tested and have come out free and clear! weeeee!

Hep C is one of the easiest to transmit, mainly because it is not limited to sexual transmission.
Hep C can survive for several hours in dry blood and can be transferred in that fashion, although extremely difficult and no confirmed cases that I know of. But it is the reason I no longer use handrails on stairs if I can avoid it.
Mayb, most people only get tested once a year, or some couples stagger it like LJ and I where each of us is getting tested every 6 months.
Congrats Kitty, now you just need to schedule a trip to Disney World <ewg>

technically we can only hope for the same of any couple, including yourself, that has been laid since their last test and thus this whole thread is moot right?
for the record, my dates this weekend used condoms even for BJs. i happened to be testing flavored condoms as i'd never used them before
*shrugs* we do what we can. we have been tested and tests came back clean today. thanks for raining on my parade though. awfully kind of you.

Tested 100% clean June 2011!!! I get tested every 6 months!!!! Just for me!!!! But I don't mind sharing!!! Everyone should, It is important especially in our lifestyle!!
We get tested for everything at least once a year (she donates her eggs so they run a FULL panel on EVERYTHING that you can think of, even random things not just STD's) so we are good
Oh and if you give us something she'd probably come after you and cut your.... well go from there.... She finds it important to be able to dontate her eggs and any STD makes it impossible to do that .....

I was tested in the spring of this year. Clean and free of all STD's.
Like DNJFXR...Full Blood panel..including STD..every three months..Blood is needed for other health concerns..so not an issue to include STDS that often, too.
well R doc knows about are lifestyle and when we ask for full blood works he covers it all
HPV
I'm glad someone finally mentioned this one. I know the HIV and HEP's are far more concerning, however, the part that says "most sexually active people will get it at some point in their lives" should be concerning. I am in the microbiology field and people need to be more wary of this. I play in the lifestyle too, so I am not trying to condemn. I just think that people get tested and think they are fine. "There is no screen for men", this means the only way you can know if a guy has it is if he has visible warts. So Ladies, if you blow an asymptomatic guy without a condom, then blow hubby.... yep, hubby (and you) could get it and not know until (if) he gets warts.

Full blood work done when I got out of the military Aug 2010, last screening day before my birthday August 21st this year.

I tried messaging you, but it appears that single males are banned from that part.
