Does anyone have recommendations for a good confidential testing facility in the Salt Lake Valley that is inexpensive and will also give proof of status? We would like this information for ourselves and future play partners.
I know that planned parenthood does testing for everything and it's about $50.00 and if you request the result they will give them too you.
Utah AIDS Foundation 1408 South 1100 East Salt Lake City, Utah 84105. 801.487.2323 They do free testing on monday afternoons. They test other times of the week as well but will charge you. Proof of status is also available.
Tests are supposed to be confidential however Dr's are required to report to the county you live in for CDC purposes, such as HIV etc. Use protection, it is sad but true and a few of those things transmit through saliva too. Such as Herpes-mono-siphalis <--spell it right? Even Lyme disease. The Lyme disease cell is similar to siphalis very, very close. I watch too many documeteries. Damn you Netflix
Swingular will be starting a new program that will be available to all members. It will recommend inexpensive, confidential testing centers in your area. After your results are ready, the facility will forward only results that have passed to our management team. You will then receive a card with the results on it to show your sex partners as well as an optional seal on your profile stating that you have recently passed an STD test. The card and seal are good for 6 months before they expire and new tests will be required.

I can see that it would cause more problems then it may be worth the time to deal with. Though it is an awesome idea. The medical record card going through admin would be breaking some privacy. This would protect the site from ever being liable in any way. If folks get tested every 6 months and play 2 times a month that is 12 new partners between tests and if each of those partners had just 6 other partners we are talking about a pyramid of 72 partners that are into the RISK equation.
Just think if Swingular could be "revolutionary" and organize all of their members to get tested on the same date. IF there was some universal dates like Sep 15th and March 15th or thereabouts and we get a large % of the folks on Swingular and all of their recent play partners to get tested at the same time.

I don't want a Lifestyle website hosting my STD status. That is way overboard and violates many, many privacy issues. Let alone forcing the website in the fighting ring of HIPPA.

I was just there and they only offer HIV, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia testing. They only test for the others if you are having symptoms.

PP will do the HSV test if requested. 160$ It is just 80% of the folks will test pos and that does not mean they have the bad herpes might be just the cold sore variety.

Meaning, for each new partner you have that is untested you are basically adding in the risk of not just that one person (Primary) but all the persons they have been with (secondary) and all the partners that those secondary people have been with etc etc.. HIV has been know to take up to 6 months of lag time from exposure to when it shows up on a test but 90 days is normally considered the standard waiting period. So any primary partner you play with who has been with someone in the past 90 days before they were tested still could have given HIV to you.
Granted HIV is rare. But HSV is not!
HSV cant take 2-3 weeks to show up on test results.
70-80% of the population will test pos for HSV as there are many folks who have the mouth cold sore HSV 1. To keep it simple sometimes in the testing HSV 1 really shows up as HSV2.. SO sometimes this means if you do test positive for HSV 2 it is really only HSV1. This is one reason Planned Parenthood will try to talk you out of this 160$ test
One more thing to add. Most people still think as long as they dont have an open HSV 2 genital herpes outbreak they are good to go. This has been found to not be true. There is a relatively new phenomenon recognized in the scientific community called Viral shedding.

So we live with there comments and move on. If you don't like what your read creat your own Fourm and get peoples oppeions like I did, and 90% of the people will give there 2cents. It might be stupid it might be meaning-full and in might just be streght up mean but everyone has an oppeion Becouse we are human and its in are nature.
