Swingers Forum - Hitting Vegas 4th of July!

Okay, so we have a long weekend with just us two adults and are looking for some things to do in Vegas. Also looking for reasonably priced places to stay. There are some caveats though. First, we're not really interested in gambling and aren't heavy drinkers (although we might be that weekend). We could do the usual touristy stuff and walk the strip checking out the casinos, malls, etc. I've been there once before about ten years ago but it was a business trip so not a lot of time to play. Any suggestions for unusual or non touristy stuff would be appreciated. We're planning to check out Lake Mead and maybe Hoover Dam. Thanks for any info you can provide.
Well the weekend of the fourth should be scorchingly hot so maybe plan accordingly. Maybe streaking nude down the strip and the jumping into a fountain or two to cool off, that would be awesome to watch.

From what I understand the 4th is pretty happening down here but, it being our first I don't have any details...i would suggest looking online for things going on that weekends :)
Very hot indeed, we hit 101 yesterday and looking at 106 today :)
You know every time we go we stay on the strip and the rooms have been so so. (Planet Hollywood's rooms were the best so far) But this last trip though Vegas we stayed way over on the bolder strip its a drive into Vegas but the room was super nice with an amazing view and it was huge!
We stayed at the Eastside Cannery http://www.eastsidecannery.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=428&Itemid=1034
Dont eat there and dont gamble there but its a great place to sleep. lol.
Thanks for the suggestions so far. Yeah, we're expecting it to be hot and crowded. The wife wants to see the real Vegas and I can't really blame her for wanting to see and experience an American icon. The heat will definitely take some getting used to as it has barely hit into the 80's here but just a couple of times.

As far as a combination of location and price the Hooters hotel looks interesting. Honestly though, the most important thing to us in a hotel/motel is having a really soft bed. An indoor pool is also really nice if we can find one, being as fair skinned as we are.
Off the strip is better priced try one of the Station Casinos like Alliente Station or Sante Fae station the Cannery or Red rock all are off the strip but its still just a short cab ride to the strip...
We are hearing that Couples Oasis is trying to be re open by the 4th of July weekend!! We are crossing our fingers that they in fact are! We always had a blast out there and have been going for over 3 years! Including guest hosting for them at different events and parties! They are located in Vegas and do in fact have a pool, the pool swim suit optional so you can be nude not just topless! I guess try the club information here and see if they are in fact going to be up and running. You can also email us directly and we will most certainly post any updates we hear.

When we lived in Las Vegas (about 10 years ago, we always had real good luck staying at the Arizona Charlies hotels. We'd get 4 or 5 couples together, then get a suite to play in. They're not right on the strip, but they're a lot better deal than the strip hotels. We always preferred to drive down to the area we wanted to walk around on the strip, then park somewhere close. Remember, the strip is a lot bigger than it looks (it's about 4 miles long), and that's a lot of walking when it's 110 degrees out.

We always had the most fun at the Red Rooster, just off the Boulder Hiway, east of town. They have almost everything you like, including an indoor pool. We were regulars there for years.

Dont stay at the hoottrs hotel its kinda blah! If you want to stay on the strip i suggest The Imperial Palace. It is midstrip and the rooms are ok but get a balcony room ! You can see the belagio fountains from your balcony. The room is only to sleep and well ya know! hehe!
There is also a huge outside bar right next door that plays live music until 2 am and if you leave you sliding glass doors open on the balcony you will enjoy the tunes!
We are going to be there also for a week.
