We are going to be in SLC during the LSR in mid August, then traveling around Utah and maybe Nevada after that. Any suggestions for places to see or things to do during that August 2011?

We are looking thru a travel book about all the things to do. The mountains are a definate destination, but should we go north to escape the August heat or is it bearable if we go south?
