Swingers Forum - New Feature: Groups

Previous Post Next Post
The Groups section is now live.

What are Groups? Groups allow you to create a group for common interests among members. For instance, if you have a motorcycle club, you can create a group where members can join and talk about your motorcycle club and similar topics.

Groups cannot contain spam or anything deemed inappropriate. If you find such content, please report the Group.

Enjoy!

.~Admin~.
We all owe you a root beer.

Thanx.
We have discovered most of the bugs so Groups should be bug free, however, sometimes they can slip past us. If you discover a bug, post it here or in the group Groups Bug Reports.

We found one bug: when searching for groups, the sort by distance function is not working. This should be resolved soon.
Good to have groups back!

I added the Mountain Biking Utah. Let's get out and ride!

This group thing will be cool I think. Found a bug maybe? I joined the mountain bike group. Clicked on another member (Mavenx), to find out more about who they were, and a dialog popped up asking if I REALLY wanted to delete them from the group!! I just selected the cancel button -- I don't know what would have happened if I'd have clicked the YES button!
Thanks for the bug report. Fortunately, it doesn't actually delete the person, but is shouldn't be popping up. It's been fixed. Thanks.
Is there any push of information from the Group to the individual's e-mail? Or do we have to manually monitor the postings there? Something like a subscription service......
Found another bug. When you click on the Group Forum post, it takes you to the main forum page and not the Group Forum post. Check out the Mountain Biking group and Fun4MWF's post.

Yeah, what he said! I created the post by just clicking on the New Post button when you first get into the group. I notice now there is a "View ALL Topics" button, followed by a new topic button, perhaps an alternate way of creating what I thought I was creating. I can always redo it if I need to although it was a long drawn out rambling post....I tend to do those sometimes!!!
BTW, I used my browser's back button and found the url where my post is at, don't know if this will help with debugging or not:

There isn't. However, we are working on a Status section for the home page that will show all the latest updates, similar to Facebook. It will show actions that anyone on your friends list make such as updating profiles, uploading pictures, RSVP'ing to events. It will also show recent group and forum posts that you are participating in.

Until then, the only thing you can do is check your groups every so often.
It would be nice to have a list of possible groups that we can see that are in our area. Right now, we basically have to have the exact name of the group to find it.

Can't you just go to 'Groups' then 'Search' and leave the criteria box blank? I know it pulls up the full list but it's not real long (yet!). Once you've found your group, and joined it, those groups that you joined immediately show up when you first click the Group toolbar button.

Like when I search right now I see a Utah county group. I don't want to join that group 'cause they're all hoity-toity, but if I did join it, I would see that group immediately when I hit the group button on the toolbar. Someone is going to take me seriously in that last sentence, aren't they?!? I don't know...just seems pretty straight forward unless we get a huge number of groups going.

BTW, I came back here to edit this and add the smiley face, cause the darn smily face toolbar disappears when I do a normal post. What's up with that??? (I really didn't want anyone to take my Utah County comment seriously and everyone seems so freakin sensitive on this site!!
Check out the Groups, Utah County.
Is there a way to invite members to join a group, without having to send an individual message to that person/couple asking them to find the group and join it? (And thanks for the groups feature; it will be very helpful when everything is working well on it.)

Can't seem to find a way to edit, or delete a group bulletin?

FIXED! Thank you!
