We really like soaking preferably nude in hot springs but only know of a couple in utah...spanish fork canyon and baker. Just wondering if anybody know of any others or if there are any groups that get together at hot springs. would be fun to soak and meet new friends.
Rumor is that the Spanish Fork ones became private property. I would like to know if that's true.
There are some in Meadow UT. No hike but the drive is farther than for Spanish fork. Time to get there comes out to about the same.

Here is one on Hells canyon in Idaho
One of my favorites is out of Vegas, down a slot canyon with chokestones, but several nice no smelly pools, toward the Colorado below Hover, I think called Arizona Hot Springs on the Nevada side. Very clothing optional.
fun
We love Lava hot Springs
"stinky springs"
My ex went there as a kid. I think he even lost his virginity there. Middle of no where northern Utah.
never been there myself.

Maple Grove hot springs near Preston ID is nice. It is located in a canyon right next to a lake, and there is almost no one around. There are a couple people who live and work there, but not very many people go, so you have a chance to get naked often. You can see people driving in and you have a second to put something on before anyone gets too close. As long as there is not a family there or something like that, it is a great place to do a little skinny dip. 7$ per person and you can drink beer as long as there is no glass.
somewhere in ogden canyon there is some too.. not sure where but I know someone knows...
this one is the best

I don't think you want to go to the one in Ogden Canyon. Hard to get to, and not clean at all. It's just across from the waterfall down below the road next to the river.
Anyone interested in a group naked soak at the Spanish fork hot springs??
We can't believe no one has said Crystal Hot Springs yet!
A favorite of ours since we met. Off the I-15 around Tremonton (a little over an hr from SLC). Ok, no nudity allowed because it is a "family place," but hey, it's hot springs and it's fun! Plus, u can always go back to your tent/camper and fuck in ur sleeping bag!
There are slides and 2 regular temp pools (all natural spring water). They've built a little camping resort around natural hot water. Check it out!

Diamond Fork hot springs (5th water hot springs)is not private property, we were there recently. In winter it is about a 5 mile hike each way due to the road being closed. In summer the road is open and so the hike is only 2.5 miles each way.
The springs are usually crowed on weekends and recently the Rangers are passing out tickets to nude bathers, that is if the Rangers are around, we have never seen a Ranger, only hear the stories from others. That said, if you go at night or weekdays you won't have a problem and usually won't see any Rangers. This place is really pretty, but some dirtbags like to leave their trash around to mess it up. People PLEASE take your trash home with you!
There is a couple of sets of pools at the springs and the lower one is mostly families, the upper pools above the waterfall is where the party people hang out and even on weekends the upper pool bathers are usually nude. You can not see the upper pools from the lower pools.
You can find pics of it online under 5th water hot springs. One last thing, watch out for rattle snakes in the warmer times, we almost always see them.
Wonderful! I'm so glad someone had the up to date info to squash what was apparently an urban legend. There are always stories about them supposedly getting closed. I usually ignore them because of that but this time I thought my source was reliable. Guess not.
the Hot springs in Midway has been bought and now is considered private property. So sad to say.

Stinky Springs is located west of Corrine Utah just as you round the bend passing Little Mountain. Very minimal and has been abused for years. It's a natural sulpher spring that is purported to be good for colds and whatnot in the winter.
At the old Rocky Point on the Box Elder/Weber line there is a fantastic hot spring that was used for many years by the Railroad as a stop. It was later developed into a pool complex but it failed under several different owners. The original Railroad built circular cisterns are still there but the current property owners have filled them in with rocks. Now they use the hot water to heat the greeen houses below.
Howdy;
Here is a site that you all might be interested in "www.soak.net" it lists most of the hot springs in the U.S.A.. Have a look, you will also need a good GPS unit

hell i have a hottub and its fenced in and close!!! lol, i know, its not the same same thing!!! but it can still be fun!!!
Diamond Fork.
Fun day in the tub with 5 guys. One taking the pic
We go to fifth water all the time, and yes the rangers are out and about. We have run into them a couple of times recently, but mostly in the parking lot looking for kids and alcohol. They seemed to take more issue with us having an empty bottle of Baileys on the back floorboard where we had discarded it after topping off the coffee mugs.
The springs, located on US Forest Service lands, cannot pass to private ownership without congressional approval and lots of hearings. Should not be a worry, and if Utah County petitioned for a Land Use Plan amendment to close it there would be plenty of public "stink" (pun intended) to fight it in the media.
Be careful even on weekends and at night. There was a much publicized case in both the DN and Trib where the rangers went in at night and made the women stand up out of the pools and then held flashlights on them while they wrote the tickets. The irony is the women were all Forest Service employees.
Winter time is best at Fifth Water. No crowds, no rangers, complete freedom to do what you want. And if it snows too much, you snow shoe in. And there is a much shorter way that what was described. Go in via the Sheep Canyon Road another 5 or 7 miles past the Diamond Fork turnoff. There is a big pullout but it isn't signed but you will usually see one or two vehicles there. From there it is 1.5 miles to the upper pools. Of course, it is an up hill hike after long relaxing soak but it is shorter than the lower route if the snow has closed the lower road. We have never found the Sheep Canyon road closed due to snow.
Happy soaking
