Swingers Forum - Lost Threads...

So... I will be the first to admit that I don't know much about internet chatting, but anyone want to give me a heads up on why I can't locate the thread FUN4MWF started about not fitting in at parties?? Am I not looking in the right place?

So you can remove a thread you started if you don't like where it goes? Didn't know that. Thx Luscious

If you start a thread you can delete or edit it. The same if you post to a thread you can delete your post or edit it if you wish without affecting others comments. Some times due to busy servers someone will post the same comment twice. They probably do not know that they can celete the duplicate.

Yes, sorry, I did delete it.
It was a thread about how I was a little sad 'cause going to a party had made me realize that I didn't fit the mold of a 'Swinger' and that I didn't have the bouncin' off the wall aggressive outgoing personality required to break into the cliques that form at parties. (Yes, JNK, I DID just use clique again! But the Oxford English dictionaries definition, not yours! )

Anyway, the thread took off on a host bashing bent that I just wanted no part of and did not at all mean to imply in my originating post. The hosts for the party that I'd attended, and the party itself were just freakin awesome and I couldn't stand to have my name at the top of a thread with that going on. I know it's bad to knock down a whole thread, and I apologize for that.

I wish someone else would start a new thread in reference to behavior at parties and events -- I got swamped with email from other folks thanking me for bringing up the topic and stating that they'd felt so freakin left out. I let those people down by deleting the thread too, but I just didn't have the heart for it the way it was going.

I didn't mean to imply that you were host-bashing, Naughty, I totally understood that you were saying that a smaller party might be an easier place to meet people -- didn't take that as a slam to that particular party at all. I thought your post was helpful and great and don't think any host would believe that you were slamming them.

Welp sorry for speaking my mind. I tend to shoot from the hip. But I must say, I've killed some threads in my time, but I've never obliterated one. Until now I guess.

Seriously, What I said about the host wasn't meant as a jab. I was merely giving you an idea of what could have led to your uncomfortableness (yes I make my own words too...LOL). If your host was as great as you say they were then it could have just been you being a little overly shy and quiet. Sometimes people sense that as being cold and prudish.

In any case my advice still stands (take it for what it's worth). Try smaller, closer knit parties to make friends that you can invite to the larger parties. Or hell, host your own parties. Just be free and have fun with it.

I may not have seen ALL the posts, but I saw a number of them - including mine.

I for one think the thread was pulled prematurely - and without sufficient reason.
What good are the Forums if we can't have a little controversial give-and-take once in a while?
I saw NOTHING in the posts that threw the hosts under the bus - and I feel the subject matter and topic were well worth the opportunity for some spirited discussion.

FUN4, I think yours was a knee-jerk reaction - based on all the best of intentions.
Butt I think you were a bit hasty in pulling the thread.
