What's the latest on the Chat feature? No rush....better it be done right and take longer than right away and blinky!
We are using a developer from overseas (Ukraine) to create our chat application. They are customizing it to work directly with the site and will have photo and video chat version along with basic text. He has informed us that it will take a bit longer to implement than expected. He hasn't given me a firm date yet but says it could be ready in a week. You are right though, I'd rather wait and have a great app then rush a poor one.

I'm not in that big of a rush. I have Yahoo Messenger to chat if I meet someone online, but the group setting would be nice.

We are currently testing a new java chat system. Please check it out and let us know your comments. If we decide to go with this system, it will have more functionality then it currently allows. It is only an evaluation version for the time being.

We haven't tried the chat yet. I hate to download yet another application. Maybe people could add their MSN ID or AIM name. We would love to meet people from this site.

Loaded the application without a glitch, but we were the only ones in there!! Is there going ot be an announcment on the home page so maybe more people will try it and we arent alone?? The only thing we dont like is the comment that has been made, when you go somewhere else on the site it automatically logs you out so you cant surf the site waiting for people to join or go out and find out who is online to get them to log into chat....
All right I went back and played with it a little more...

Hi raz, sorry we missed you on the chat. We think it would be helpful if there was an indicator or something connected to the chat tab that would show that there was someone logged-in to the chat program so you can join in. We have also noticed that if you minimize the chat and work with another window, everything locks up if someone else checks into the chat thing, or at least that looks like what happens.
Another comment, if we may. When using the smileys, how about a description of the emotion or meaning of the selected character instead of keycodes? Some of us with weak eyes have a hard time seeing. lol It would make for easier selection and prevent misunderstanding when making the selection.
Just got warned by the server for "flooding", whatever that means. How are you supposed to test the system if you can't try and figure out what it does when you try the features? Seems like, in the testing stage, you would want potential users to try out the features, not warn them. The emotions are boring, after they finally load. Just don't try them out too much or the usage-nazi will give you a warning.
cant wait for the video chat since it will bring so many more into the chat room. And just the other night I figured I would get some work done while also just hanging out in the chat room, funny how before long there were a number of people coming in and most every one said the same thing.. "wow I have never seen anyone in the chat, this is great"

I like the chat now ok...It works better than some sites. The photo chat feature will be very nice, if everyone makes plenty of pictures. It can really enhance the chat experience and make it alot of fun.
