You have to remember, that does not include members who haven't updated/selected those options in their profile. For some reason, quite a few members have left out the details of their profile options so it makes it hard to narrow down your search to just those options.
So don't fret, just because you see only 13 listings doesn't mean that there are only 13 members who match your criteria.

I think the slim-athletic criteria is eliminating a large percentage.Most over 35 consider themselves carrying a lil extra 'baggage' I didn't do the same search without that checked so just my guess.

The more picky or "selective" one is...one may expect the possibilities and potential candidates to lessen regardless of whatever it is you are looking for.
No sense making everyone, the site, and even the Swingular search engine all bad and wrong for your lack of return....your selectivity is, after all....YOUR choice.

just a thought, you may want to lower the age range by a few years. we by no means are in perfect shape, but we have found many couples between 30-35 that are very fit and nonsmokers as well. Maybe lower by 5 years and see if you have much more success.

Is it just me, or is anyone else bothered slightly when people call swinging an "adventure?" And no offense meant to anyone who does refer to it. I'm just saying, when I read "adventure" I get these mental images of Indiana Jones or hell, the Goonies, in some trek facing nearly certain death (or at least extreme peril), hoping to find the treasure, save the woman (or earth), and outwit the evil bad guy...

Never responded to any forums before but look at them pretty regularly, but this time I do have something meaningful to say. Thanks chrashtalker for effectively educating people about behavior risk, and badboy8p I agree rude is rude. Let me say this to maybemor. I and my other are not Ken and Barbie, nor do we look for Ken and Barbie. We both feel that we prefer down to earth honest people and look beyond the physical aspects of people in order to make our experiences more meaningful. We are honest about who we are and what we are looking for, yes I smoke ooh bad for me but maybe it balances out if I dont eat red meat lol. You narrow down your ability to search first of all by having narrow guidelines, and by not being honest in your own profile. I have to say, as an active member of many online forums, I have never been party to one that has the ability to allow a thread to digress as fast as this one. Seems as though any topic is fair game once those pesky first couple of posts are out of the way (not that I am quite clear on exactly what the OP had in mind as a topic as this thread was conceived). Another point is even though I perceive the median IQ of the demographic involved in some of the other forums, basing this conclusion solely on topic (hunting, fishing, automotive) I have never seen a group of people so quick to take offense and so quick to offer their own offensive opinion. Which I find especially ironic coming from a group that in my mind is one of the most open and accepting group of human beings in existence. We have no problem attending a party and greeting someone we have never met with a kiss, yet we bicker back and forth in a public forum...

I am going to go ahead and take some artistic freedom, give the benefit of the doubt, and assume that despite the fact that the first post came across with an air of elitism and perhaps even a bit pompous, that the point of the post was someone asking what they were doing wrong when searching that would yield such a low number of results, especially in the swinger Mecca that is the salt lake valley!
My one piece of advice is that you may want to include "full swap" into your search criteria, and this is coming from a couple that is soft swap only. I say this because the majority of couples that we have been with list themselves as full swap, yet we have never so much as had one of them even ask if we would be interested in a full swap, let alone express any aversion to us due to our softy nature.
Just another slightly off topic note-worthy (at least to us) point is this, when we started we had a fairly narrow scope of what we were looking for, AGE, body type, etc.. although after a year or so we are finding that there is much more to be quantified by the chemistry between four people, and much less to be had by the quantifying factors. We have noticed this most when we venture outside of our original parameters of what we thought was an acceptable upper control limit of age.

Well it is nice to get some intelligent on topic responses. Yes my original intent was unclear. I wanted to ask about the search function as so many times it seemed like I must be doing something wrong. I was frustrated at how you have to reenter all the parameters each time. And some of the parameters are different in search compared to what you can select in the profiles??? For instance in Soft swap in the profile you can respond with a yes, no, or maybe. Also how do you sort by excluding a yes in some parameter.? After playing with this feature I also noticed that some searches would get 2 pages of results and then I would go back and think I only changed one thing and get 20++ pages. The fact that I could NOT save the searches and be sure I just changed one parameter even though I thought I did was a pain as well. In all this I started to see some interesting trends that I was going to report on but by that time the thread had been hijacked.

Getting back to the numbers, We find it hard to believe it came back with so few. Every search we do comes back with far too many to choose from. And we always select non-smoking, and i would call us picky.

Since you are a newer member, you won't know that we made some changes to Swingular about a year ago and added a lot more details for you to choose from. A lot of members haven't updated their profiles since then and usually don't after they initially create one which is why there are so many N/A's.
Also, we notice a lot of new members skip the detailed areas. So we think it just could be that most members want to hurry up and create their profile to see what the site it all about then just get lazy after wards and never make the updates.

It would be nice if the Admin would put out an email to everyone to please update the profiles. Some interesting bugs with the search is if you go to the main search page and then select any option as well as "online" it never brings it up. But it will bring it up if you go to "who's Online" from the drop down menu.
