Just curious about the reality of picking up a single female or a couple at a vanilla party gathering? Not meeting actual swingers at the party and then going from there, but going to the party and meeting someone new and playing with them?
Does it really happen, or is it just in the movies?

I doubt it, unless they are already in the lifestyle and attending as vanilla. I have known people that were not in the lifestyle do it with someone that they have known for a while but you would not consider and they do not consider themselves swingers. So maybe it is possible. If it happens to you let the rest of us know.

It's possible, but it's not something I would pursue with any hope of success. Besides, you might get into a bind trying it.

yes it has happened to us while on vacation. But i think when it does the cpls has thought about it just never had anyone to get them started. God I love my wife. hehehehe
We have had fun converting a couple of our single female friends. It takes some work and being very slow in the steps to get them there. Never picked up a single female in a bar though.
We have much better luck at vanila parties than at lifestyle ones. Especially for single women. I think personality is a big factor. Most everyone at parties has thought about it, just haven't tried yet.
I pick up singles AND couples at vanilla events all the time. I'll head out to a club on a random weekend and its a good chance I'll find someone to bring home with me. Both females, males, and couples.

contrary to popular belief, only a small group of people are into my unique version of attractiveness. not saying i'm ugly, but i'm not traditional sexy. although i have to say that hanging out at a goth/raver/alternative club ups my chances a lot.

We have picked up and/or converted couples, single females and single men... It is one of Mr Mixed favorite activities.... we call it Vanilla hunting! Of course I am the bait in lots of the situations! lol
LOL! Happened to us last night with the hottie we were dirty dancing with at Quantum. We knew her from a vanilla vintage rally we went to in another state last year. She called yesterday late afternoon to say she'd be driving through Utah on her way back home and that SLC would be a good stopping point. We invited her to spend NYE with us and then stay the night at our place. It was completely unexpected, she isn't a lifetyler and didn't know we were, but she actually initiated things...

This is more common then many might think. We also meet most single females this way. The reason is these people get curious and want someone to help guide them in the lifestyle since they are not willing to venture into something so taboo on their own.
Can't disagree with anything posted here. There are consequences, though. A vanilla party at our place last year evolved into some naked hot tubbing and a little bit of girl on girl with a friend. They knew we were into the lifestyle and they were obviously curious. Since that night, they won't have anything to do with us.
