Upon reading this, there will be a select few of you who will understand why we are posting this topic.
Our understanding of a forum, or atleast the reasons we come to them are for three basic reasons: 1.) To share opinions and ideas. This is a great way to help resolve problems, learn new ways to improve, share experiences and in general, expand our knowledge and understanding of others. 2.) Add a little humor to the day. Lets face it, America\'s Funniest Home Videos makes a killing on everyday experiences... there have been some great ones shared in the forums. 3.) Get some exposure. Making a statement, sharing an idea or just adding a thought helps others see you and become interested... ( perhaps one of the most important reasons we all come here to this sight and maybe others. )
During the past several months there have been several heated topics. Some pretty harsh comments have been directed to others in some of these forums. Its our opinion, right or wrong, that we are all entitled to share our point of view without severe retribution as long as we dont slander or try to do harm to someone else... and really... why would we want to?
On several occassions we have posted our point of view, sometimes trying to add a little light humor or sarcasm in our statement. We never intended in the least to offend or hurt anyone. Our intent here is to increase our contacts and friendships, (and we have made some terrific relationships thanks to this sight and the parties). However, it seems there are those individuals who find it necessary to use tactics similar to terrorists by sending what can only be defined as hate mail. WHY ? Well... there is nothing more dissappointing than to see you have mail only to open it and read line upon line of anger and hate directed at a simple opinion that was shared with good intent.
So... to you forum anarchists who feel its your rightful place to hurt, to discourage, to be downright cruel to people you really know nothing about but find some form of satisfaction with your disguisting actions... YOU WIN. We don\'t need you to rain on our picnic anymore, so we will choose to be silent and let you wallow in your own verbal excrements.
To the majority of wonderful people here.. thank you so much for sharing your kindness and friendship. We have grown to love a great many of you and hope to continue to do so... just less public and more in private.

Yea well lemme tell ya Kev/Cyn the forums are for me and Tish to find a somewhat small fun house party for new years to attend lol. Ok and to promote ourselves and get a laugh or two so I guess we are on the same page DAMNIT I hate when your right.
I agree with everyone above, the forum should be a positive outlet. The best way to deal with those who do not use it this way is to ignore their responses. It is very tempting to reply when someone takes a viscious stab, but to do so is just adding fuel to the fire and giving them the satisfaction they want. If they persist in being rude or hateful they should be reported and dealt with by the Administrator.
Kev/Cyn, by not commenting on forums anymore, you let those who are jerks win... also give them the satisfaction of knowing they have upset you, which is their intent in the first place.
So my opinion is..... you should continue to voice your opinion and to $#@& with those who don\'t like it.... .

The Forum is a Free Speech Room.... if you look on your log in page, there in BIG WORDS, it says FREE SPEECH/
We have a great time in the forums. While we may not agree with every opinion that is posted, it is still very nice to see more and more people sharing.
Even if you disagre with something that someone has stated, there IS a way to go about making your point heard without being RUDE. Once it (your opinion) has been made public, there is no reason to argue it with anyone is there? Sending hate mail is seriously immature. We would never engage in e-mail hate games with anyone.

We have to agree with Riderz on this one.... We have put in our 2 cents a time or two only to have someone email us directly to tell us about their opinion. PLEASE if you have a remark on someone\'s post, Respond publicly or leave us the hell alone.

CYNANDHIM - Please don\'t stop posting, I\'ve always enjoyed reading what you have to say and it would be a shame to lose your voice just because of the actions of a few inconsiderate jerks. The internet has a tendency to bring out the worst in people, so I just take most things with a grain of salt. What this site needs is an ignore feature, but until then, I hope you take the bad with the good.
As for the rest of us, just because we have the right of free speech doesn\'t mean we can\'t express ourselves in a polite and considerate way and that we can\'t respect other\'s opinions.

We\'ve found that reading posts in the forums is a good way to get a \"feel\" for how people think and lets us better gauge who we would like to meet. Profile pics are great, but appearances are not everything.
Luckily, we saw one of CynandHim\'s posts on the forum and now they are definately on our \"Want to Meet\" list!!

Forums are great people are not going to agree on every subject and you should not expect them too there is a right way and wrong way to respond respond with \"respec\"t and everyone can get along just fine. We have posted about\" why do people get so hung up on age\" and we recieved some not so nice replys so we simply choose not to respond rather than getting into some kind of cyber war lol everyone has a right to his/her opinion. Use the forums to have fun but just don\'t do it at the expense of hurting others on the other end of the post. If you are the one who is getting attacked instead of steaming about it laugh about it its only a opinion and opinions are like assholes everyone has one :-)
