I have a good friend of mine who joined the site a little bit ago. This person really enjoyed the lifestyle, the website, and most of the people this person met. Unfortunately, after playing with a couple, this person contracted an STD. This person has now stopped swinging in consideration of others so it doesn't spread.
I would urge all of you to please be responsible for your actions. Please be carefull. Get checked regularly. Use protection. Know the different STD's, what they look like, symptoms, etc. I would even suggest the Admin to please put up a section on the website for ways to safe swinging, and some links of how to recognize different STD's.
Please people. Be careful. Act like adults. Be honest with your partners, and be safe.
By the way.. the picture isn't of this person.. but a good reminder to look before jumping in.

Not the breakfast of champions.
Here is a link to the SLC health

Planned Parenthood only checks for HIV, Chlamydia, and gonorrhea.
Also they tell you to wait 2 weeks after anew partner for the Chlamydia/gonorrhea test to be meaningful and like 30 days for the HIV test to have any relevance..
There are many STD's currently showing in Utah other than Chlamydia/gonorrhea.
And dont forget about
Herpes Type 2 (blood) test
Hepatitis B
Hepatitis C
This is our biggest fear in this endeavor. Folks a condom is not safe se!!! And many things can be transmitted orally. yep. We find so many folks are set in their understanding of things and they will not listen and they really dont even want to talk about STD's It would be much more fun to have your head in the sand!!

Lets not forget Genital warts that are detected visually and are spread by pelvic to pelvic contact and condoms dont prevent this.
Also the 3 main types of Vaginitous such as Urea Plasma, Mico Plasma and Trichomonas
You see why we are looking for another Virgin couple

That couple should leave the lifestyle as well ! ~ ! ~ ! If that couple is on here and reads this GET OUT ! We don't need that here and it's totally sad to think that someone knowingly would have sex with someone without declaring to them that they have a STD.
MASTON, never said this other couple did this maliciously! I think it is better to direct this topic towards STD education and testing to prevent this in the future.
Theoretically if you had a closed group of folks with no STD's they could do what ever with no risks.
To approach this ideal just like the SLC health department suggest for all sexually active folks with multiple partners is to get tested often. The mathematics against this closed group ideal are quite mind boggling. Oh one more thing remember it takes 7-10 biz days to get the results for most things other than the 15 min HIV finger prick blood test.

I was just urging people to be smart, study up on the diseases, and please be as safe as possible. This is a wonderful lifestyle, where most of us have had lots of fun. Please be adults, and be honest, and be kind to others.
I absolutely agree that being safe if so very very important in this day and age. However, I am pretty sure the message could have been put out there WITHOUT the graphic nauseating picture. Just my opinion. Late the hate mail begin......

I think we all could do a little better in this department. Especially in group situations, after party's, etc. I think oral sex is perhaps the one area where some of probably should be more careful. We have a loose rule if it doesn't look good or smell good, then stay the hell away from it. However, I'm sure there is inherent risk there as well. I agree with Maston_Thrust.. Condom use should not be the only warning for safe sex in the lifestyle. I think Education is important as well. Couples should take their sexual health responsibly. We get STD checks, but we could be doing this more often though. Sorry for the edit of my previous post, but rethought it somewhat. I think parties can be incredibly fun, but also dangerous. Most cases you know which couples you play with in any given situation. But parties can pose a more dangerous situation, mix that with alcohol and you may not remember the name of that person you blew in the bathroom.Perhaps a host at some of these private house parties or hotel after parties would consider buying a few extra condoms, dental dams, and latex gloves for those attending. Yes, safe sex is my responsibility, but no one is perfect all the time. Perhaps the local communities that play on swingular could also throw out suggestions to make play safer. Such as where to get inexpensive STD tests, or information that maybe helpful for couples and singles to play safe. Thanks again Mast.. very timely and good information. This is a pretty positive article on swinging and STD's.. it says basically the same. Play safe.
I'm in agreement.
Your second paragraph reminded me of something.
PLEASE folks - take this for the humor it is intended to be.
When I was a kid of about 14, I had a paper route.
I used to pick my papers up at a local rural garage where I would often hear the men there discussing things of a sexual nature.
One thing I heard one day I have never forgotten - one of the men said:
"If it doesn't stink dont eat it - it's gone bad".
Please don't kill the messenger.
People, No.. I am not going to say who my friend is.. Nor even if the person is a male or female. For the privacy of that person. (Plus the person isn't on here any more)
I don't know who the couple is that this person contracted it from.
Sorry people. Just be smart and careful.
