How do I block people NOT on my friend's list from IMing me? I constantly am getting dinged by people I don't know......I still want to be able to IM with those on my friend's list so I can't deactivate it....

Thanks RSBSINC...We actually do appear have quite a bit in common as far as how we feel about this site. You actually do have some very good points, in my opinion. We just have a little different approach to them. If everyone could just learn to agree..that it's ok to disagree on things..maybe we could graduate! LOL

Yeah, anyone who sees you online can send you an instant IM.....which in itself isn't so bad but I really do get slammed with them. I'm trying to curtail it so I can actually pay attention to what I'm doing. ADD and Instant Messaging is not a good combination. LOL. I can only carry one a few conversations with any success. LOL

Seems you would have to turn off the im feature altogether, I would never im anyone not on my friends list,but thats me. You can make yourself invisible but then your friends won't know you are online unles they see your profile. Maybe admin can tweak the system We'll see.

I keep mine off for that simple fact!! D has his on sometimes and gets all kinds of people IM'ing him...I have had it on when it's been messing up before and get bombarded...this definitely needs to be fixed...kisses...Naugh-Ty

Click on Whos Online
Then click on a highlighted chat button. They don't have to be your friend at all. If it's lighted they they have their IM activated. If it's not, they are either offline or don't have IM activated. I just clicked on a complete strangers IM button and was able to send a message.
But I wish there was an option available so that we can pick and choose if we want to chat with everyone, our friends, or no one. Just a thought Admin.
Admin is around, just posted another topic, so I really hope he chimes in here and can tell us if we're missing an option that's already there or if he'll do something to change it up

I did try that and we had friends online chatting but when we went to their profile it said chat not avaviliable. [/quote]
But if I understand you correctly, those are your friends. The who's online shows who's online both friends and non friends. You can click on a random stranger who's IM is activated and just send them a message.
