i have some friends that are poly and they are way cool to but they do have alot of rules. mainly for sex and meeting people. when it come to get close you are either part of them or your not. that what i found out and that ok we are all still good friends even though i didnt fit for there poly group.

I've only personally known one poly couple and they were active in the swinger lifestyle. They were nice, but at the time it wasn't my thing. I've lately been looking for a girl to add to our relationship to make it a poly one. We're not picky about who she hangs out with and we're not controlling, but we wouldn't be swinging while in the relationship. We'd still socialize and live our lives like normal independent people, just would keep sex between us 3.

On a random side note: That polygamist family in Lehi that's been on that show called Sister Wives... my niece is dating one of their kids.

Yeah. I can't do ONE relationship. Forget trying to make a bunch of people happy. Polyamory or mutiple spouses is not for the faint of heart.

I totally understand and can empathize loving more then one person at a time, I just can't see being committed to more then one person at a time.

Have fun at least with it.

We have had a mff poly relationship for about 8 years. We consider ourselves pretty normal people in an admittedly unusual situation. Two things i can say about it. One, it works for us but probably not for most, and two, all of the other groups we have known, and there have been several, all have a different dynamic than ours. Its only natural i suppose, with so many variables it would be insane to think that all poly relationships would be even close to being the same. Im sure it has been a part of human sexuality and family organization since we where capable recognizing each other. Its not as radical as most people think.

Yes kitty there is sites for this !!!! And yes alot like polygamy but usually there isnt no 3somes going on just 2 seperate relationships and all 3 are best friends ......

I can definitely say that im a polyamorous person by nature..and i have been in the situation where i was in love with two separate people at the same time(Mr. Unicorn Chaser &a woman i had been seeing separately but openly)..unfortunately that equation never even came close to a forming a triad(my female love interest had a male lover who i was not interested in, &they lived together)so it didnt work out. Obviously i was not going to give up my primary relationship with my boyfriend for the less long term one, but if she had been single than it could have worked out. I am not interested in any more than two committed love relationships at the same time, i would not be able to handle any more.
At this time the Mr. and i aren't looking for anything serious with anyone, but its always a future possibility. We currently keep it to casual female play partners(with or without friendship)until we feel that we are at a better place in our life where we can think about a more deeper and serious commitment with someone..which would be a single female, of coursewinks

yes it seems that it should be a relationship between all involved, no matter what the mix, all involved have a love for one another and all be on equal terms within the relationship, from my understanding if its based only on a sexual basis, it is no different than any other relationship, eventually it will fall apart, probably not a good thing to get into just for the sex, right? never met any poly poeple, or even researched it, but the little i have heard, it is all just a very loving committed relationship between all.

from what i understand, polyamory they have sex all together. polygamy, its separated. the hubby takes turns with each wife.

Definition: a person who engages in the exchanging of spouses for sexual activities.

monogamy
Definition:
1. marriage with only one person at a time.
2. the practice of having only one mate.
3. the practice of marrying only once during life.

Im not calling u stupid Kitty or dumb !!!! But you wrote it ... It says multiple and stimultaneous loving or sexual relationships .... This definition says relationships not relationship its saying more then one not all in one !!!! But Im sure there are 3ways going on in polyamory ..... And I know what a swinger is and singles are just what swingers bring in for added fun really singles are not swingers .... But to each there own Kitty I hope u find what your looking for !!!!
And remember im a dumbass myself but there is a TV series on this and they are not doing 3ways and it explains it very well ..... But STICKYHOT1 says she is in a polyamory relationship so mabey she knows more just stating what I have read and watched on it .......

We just wanted to fallow up on one of Kitty's questions that never got answered. Does anyone know of any Dating/Meeting sites are strictly geared toward those looking for polyamory relationships and if so what are the URLs?

We are very interested in meeting and talking with others that are in poly relationships as well as finding a bi female to form a triad with. We have attempted to have poly relationships for the last 6 years and the longest one lasted about 6 months. We had a swing relationship that lasted about 3 years that we would have liked to be poly.
Most go into poly because they fell in love w/someone beyond their significant other, and others because they dont like the empty feeling of casual sex, among many other reasons.

Funny thing is we only have 2 rules: 1. That everyone is happy and 2. that everyone stays healthy.

Im not totally sure you know what a polyamorus relationship is. It is NOT just a 3some once in awhile. It usually means a committed, full time, usually in the same domicile relationship with more than 2 people. A marriage so to speak, even though our great country makes that illegal. Polygamy is very close of course though has that mormon flavor to it and usually implies one man and several women, which is fine by me as long as EVERYBODY is FULLY consensual with it. Oh and it is definatly NOT an ideal situation for all!

From what I have read here it would seem that the bases are covered on Polyamory.
I appreciate those of you who have shared your experiences.

The best part about Polyamory for me is understanding, and the journey thereof, what makes me tick when it comes to my connections, my jealousy and my boundaries. This can be a difficult or sometimes easy process. I didn't know which it would be before I embarked on it. It is not easy for me and is a continual process, but I have learned so much.

Many of the singles/couples we have met here have become more than fuck buddies. We like them because they are rad people and want to keep them in our lives so it can be a type of polyamory depending on who you ask I suppose. The lifestyle is different for each person just like polyamory is different for each person involved.

I fully believe that love is about mutual respect NOT about possession. I prefer to work of the premise that me loving someone means I want whats best for them, it doesn't mean I own them or hold on to them so no one else can have them. I want what best for them even if what's best for them is someone else. This concept is the main reason I self identify as poly.

Finding other people (male or female) has definitely been a challenge for us. How do you meet someone and then move to "so, do you want to be our unicorn?" or "so, do you want to join our family?" given the current social norms it's a difficult prospect.
