Swingers Forum - New Feature: Add Photos via Mobile Phone Email

Previous Post Next Post

We are happy to announce our latest feature: Mobile Phone Photos

Do you have pictures on your mobile phone that you wish you could add to your photo album? Well now you can.

As we prepare to launch the mobile version of Swingular, we have decided to release this new feature.

Just email your photo(s) to your private, personal Swingular email address and they will automatically get added to your PRIVATE photo album. From there, you can copy or move the photo to any other photo albums.

Your personal Swingular email address can be found by clicking MY ACCOUNT. This email address only accepts jpg images which all phones should send. All other emails will get rejected. You could even email photos from your computer as long as they are jpg images.

You can add a caption to the photo by putting it in the SUBJECT field of the email.

Each phone is different on how to attach or send photos via email. However, if you post your phone type here, I'm sure someone else may have the same phone and will be able to help you.

If you have any questions, just ask.

Enjoy!

Thanks sounds like a nice addition.
Sent one, how long does it take to post.
Thanks
It should be fairly quick, but it's all dependent on your provider.

PS: You can add a caption to your photos by putting it into the SUBJECT field of the email.
What are the default permissions of the photos? Do they end up in public or private?
Sent two, will check later, Our provider is Tmobile.
Thanks xoxo
Worked perfectly with Verizon's Droid phones!!!

As stated above, they will be uploaded to your Private Album. Then you can move or copy them to any album you wish.
PSS: You will soon be able to send videos from your mobile phone as well!

are the pictures supposed to go into album.. sent one twice now and still don't see it.

Droid phone.. sent through my gmail account that is linked to my Droid.

I can see that you attempted to send something through in the logs, however, there were no attachments. Can you try again?
Ok, the MOVE/COPY to another album has been fixed for ALL browsers.

TO MOVE/COPY A PHOTO TO ANOTHER ALBUM:

Just go to the photo album you wish to move/copy the photo from and at the top of your photos, you will see the MOVE/COPY functions. Select the photo you wish to move by putting a check in the photos checkbox, then select MOVE or COPY, then select the album you wish to move it to and press GO.

That's it.
We are finding that some phones and some providers send images through email differently. If you are unsuccessful at emailing photos from your mobile phone, please post your phone model and your mobile provider here so we can troubleshoot. Thanks.
BLACKBERRY & VERIZON USERS

If you try emailing a photo and it doesn't work within a few minutes, please post here. Thanks.

Pictures not going though.
Love the new feature. Will see if it works later.

If you are unsuccessful emailing photos to your photo album, please send the photo to [email protected]. Put your username in the Subject field. This will allow us to troubleshoot your phone and provider. All photos sent to this address will be destroyed after troubleshooting.

Thanks.
We'd like to know how this has been working out for some of you. It seems like it works for 80% of you. We haven't received any information that it hasn't worked but from checking the logs, we can see that some of the emails that are sent don't have any image attachments.

If this hasn't worked for you, we'd like to hear from you.
Ok, I must be part of the 20%...just tried to send a pic in, tried with my yahoo mail off my phone and also my gmail off my phone and neither have appeared...I have a Samsung Galaxy S Facinate from Verizon...thanks :)

Just checked the logs and nothing has even come through yet from either provider. Even if there was a problem, the logs would show that there was an attempt at least.

Hmmm...ok, I'll try again...it said sent...really weird....
Yeah, I'll keep looking out for it. Oh wait, you know what, we sent out a blast email this morning and our mail queue has over a million emails trying to send out. It clogs our mail system so incoming mail gets held back as well. It should subside in an hour or 2.
Ok...so it will probably end up in there 3 times then lol
The first one came through, no attachment. I'll keep an eye out for the other two. Then I may have you send them to me directly to see what the issue could be.
Hmmm...ok, I sent the first one through yahoo, second through gmail and the third I sent as a text message to the email (just to see if it would work) they all had "testing" in the subject line...thanks for working on this, it's a great idea!
Can you send the emails the same way to this email address so I can check them? [email protected]. Thanks.
Well do as soon as I get a break in class :)
I use Cricket and my Samsung phone and I can't get pics to show up.
I tried sending some and got a text msg back that i was sending unsolicited bulk email???
