Single male in this lifestyle.. - I have questions for couples and single females. -
sorry Evildoers but stupid people get my goat
Look, I hear where you're coming from. But I sort of know this guy. Never actually met him, but there was some, I guess you could say, interaction through emails. And he sort of screwed something up, kind of embarrassed me with someone else, and pissed me off. For a minute. And the reason it was only for a minute (the fact that she thought it wasn't a big thing helped, I'll admit) was that he'd made an honest, but sort of clueless, mistake. And that he really wasn't aware that not doing what you say you're going to, and not letting anyone know until the very last minute when you could have let them know a lot sooner, is a much bigger thing here than it is in the vanilla world. But now he does know, and I'd be amazed if he ever did anything like that again. And my read on him is that he isn't stupid, just ignorant, a basically nice guy trying to figure out how to navigate in an unknown territory. And yeah, this is a topic that keeps coming up. But you know what? I suspect that the guys that bring it up are actually serious about the lifestyle, and that the ones who try it and find out it wasn't the "all the girls want to fuck" scene they thought it would be just shrug their shoulders and go back to the bars. I I suspect that a lot of swingers didn't get into it until they were a couple. And I also suspect that they might not realize what it's like for a single guy, if he's one that isn't just trying to find a quick and easy way to get laid. Believe it or not, not all of them are. Me, it's a case of been there, done that. Back when "free love" was all the rage, before Herpes, AIDS, or any other really serious STD, when any guy who couldn't go out on just about any Friday night and end up in bed with some girl had to be either the Hunchback of Notre Dame or a complete and total asshole,I was a single male in the lifestyle. I sure as Hell wasn't trying to find an easy way to get laid, in those days it didn't take much of an effort at all. And you'd think swinging was easier then, with sex being such a casual, no big deal, thing. But it was actually even harder and more complicated. As Evil said, it was called wife swapping, and it was a seriously bad thing as far as society was concerned. Swinger functions, like Sinful Saturdays, Risquee Soiree stuff, Meet n Greets? No way, Jose. There were only private, invite only, parties. There wasn't any internet, if someone was silly enough to try to set something like that up and advertise in the papers (the only avenue available then), no paper was going to take the ad. Everything was word of mouth, and that word pretty much only went to couples. It was actually dangerous. There were cases (not a lot, thankfully, but some) of the local police somehow finding out about a wife swapping party, raiding it, and hitting everyone there with morals charges. Which could even cost people their jobs. That was in the '70s, it did start to sort of loosen up in the '80s, which is when I left the country and the scene, but it was still more complicated than it is today, with no internet and everything word of mouth and single men by invitation only. So why did I bother, when sex was so damned easy to find everywhere? I LIKED these people, that's why. They were ignoring what everyone thought they should or shouldn't do, and were doing what they thought was right for them. Which is how I've believed, since I was maybe 15, that everyone should be. Point being, not all single males are JUST trying to get laid. So if someone comes along who takes the time and effort to ask how he can navigate what are some pretty treacherous waters, I think he deserves to be treated as if he's serious, just a little clueless, and not be ridiculed for it. Hell, even Evil, who's quicker than anyone I know to jump on utter stupidity with both feet, and ridicule the Hell out of it, gave the guy a break and some good, if blatant and not sugar coated, advice.

Swingers of Color - - Trust me... we're here... just too busy to take pics of the action....LOL

Swingers Vacation Spots - Help us - We prefer Mexico over Jamaica. You get more for your dollar in Mexico. Hedo is so commercialized nowadays that in our opinion isn't any fun and whoever pointed out that Hedo isn't a lifestyle resort is correct. It is a clothing optional resort that has become popular with lifestylers that is all. I think that the only way to ensure that you will meet other like minded people would only go if you know of a resort takeover or you take some lifestyle buddies with you. Otherwise you will run into people that are just mostly into the nudist thing. The only time that we would even consider Hedo is if there was a lifestyle group doing a take over or at least a partial takeover. There really aren't any resort other than one that I can think of in Mexico that strictly caters to the lifestyle and personally we don't endorse that resort at this time due to a lot of issues they need to rectify. HUU.
Heading down again on the 12th. You should join us. Funny because we were there Memorial day weekend and there every Memorial Day weekend.

Imus Fired - The beginning of the end of Free Speech? - - Well it would seem that the people have the right answers are the swingers (lol). I am happy that a discussion like this can take place and that valid points are brought out that all of us can agree upon. Unfortunately for us and the future generations our friend TR's wishes that it would all just cease to exist is probably a very long way off (as far as our entire society adopting this idea). However we (the minority---(all races that agree racism should be eradicated regardless of what nationality it's against) can try and improve our own litle space and just hope that it becomes infectious. I personally would like to be treated and try to treat others based on the way the carry themselves regardless of what you look like (it seems that people are not only mistreated based on color but height, weight, education, social status, financial income, and yes even choice of music preference---as noted here just to name a few). In a perfect world we would all be blindfolded and could only draw conclusions about someone based on their actions, and then again would even that be correct??? I mean I enjoy the fact that people are different from me and enjoy different things---I can learn from them and hopefully have something to offer them as well (not just sex---mind out of the gutter, just for a few---lol) This was made clear to me as I learned the name of an african American nascar driver just from reading the replies in this forum. While I doubt that the few of us here have the perfect solution to make this ugly problem go away, it is at least comforting to know that there are PEOPLE in this world and on this site that seem to have a genuine concern for the fair treatment of all, and for that I'm glad that even though it was a cyber meeting--I still had the chance to communicate with you all......................

Swingers cars??? - What ya driving?? - We have a 1999 Chrysler LHS, A 2001 Ford Focus and our newest edition. A newer classic car and its a 1989 Toyota MR2 Phoenix. Bought it in almost perfect condition. We just started restoring it a bit though most of it is original to the car. We have put some fun details to it indeed. Would love to talk about cars with some fun groups and go on some fun drives in my sweet MR2....Anyone wanna race?!?! (=

closed doors? - - Ha ha to the comment about swingers parties being one big orgy. We have been to several parties and none of them have been that :( If anyone knows where they have those, please let us know:p

Goblin Valley Swingers? - -
I have camped at the state facility at Goblin Valley. GV is amazing to see! The campground was very nice. Ideally there are two sites for tents only that are isolated from the others because they have a whole canyon to themselves! I think it's a great place
Good feedback. It looked like where the group was camping was not in a designated campsite, but more dispersed camping. Sounds like it would be fun and secluded enough for good times.

Same Sex Marriage - If you support - Simply put... Who are WE (as swingers) to talk about the definition of marriage? Who are WE to judge the "Tradition" of marriage or the "Traditional" definition of marriage? And what does gay marriage have to do with us as swingers? Since we, as swingers, demand the freedom to do with our relationships - and our marriages - as we will, shouldn't everyone be allowed equal freedom? Regardless of their sexual orientation? Marriage should be open to all. Period. A swinger talking about and trying to defend the "traditional" marriage is simply laughable, hypocritical bullshit to me. -Mr. K_T

Do you mix your vanilla and lifestyle friends? - - We tell anyone who is a late night friend, ie: serious friend, vanilla or not that we have an alternative lifestyle. It has made things so much easier. Our vanilla friends are closer. We make it very clear that we don't have any interest in sex with them for concerns about ruining what is a already a good relationship. I am not talking, work vanillas, they don't need to know. I am talking about people with whom we go dancing or bar hopping. Why lie about who you really are? The whole reason for jumping the hurdle that is the "lifestyle" is to be free with who you really are. Then you are supposed to hide it with people who are supposed to really care about you? Nope. Because of this, it is really cute when we throw a party or get together. The vanillas spend the whole time excitedly trying to guess who the swingers are. Most of the time it doesn't take much to guess. This reminds me of what got us started on this course. We threw a mostly vanilla roller skating party with some vanilla friends. They invited a whole bunch of people and we invited a whole bunch of people. We invited 3 couples who were swingers who did not know or probably didn't care to hide what they were. The vanilla couple invited once swinger couple totally unaware that they were swingers. We got very outed that night. lol It went really well so it carried over as a "good idea". Piper
