Preconceived Ideas - - It's been a long time, but I'm not sure that I had any preconceived ideas. I'm poly and responsibile non-monogamy was nothing new to me. On the other side of this relationship B knew I was Poly and she didn't quite understand it but trusted me. She was "curious" that is to say if she saw FF play in a flic she got so gushing wet.. but because of her catholic upbringing, she couldn't be Bi....that's a sin.....??.... Well we went to a party and luckily a couple and staff members sat down and talked to her and she watched people and talked to others and found out they were not pervs. Nurses and medical personel are probably the largest group in swinging. Cops, (police for the people who don't like the other term) truck drivers, mechnics, architects, contractors, engineers etc... So a good cross section of the general populaion are represented.. When she found this out...she embrassed the lifestyle and she loves to dance and... let her libido run. She was no longer curious after a couple of parties.... So she can get nude do whatever she wishes and even have orgasms on the dance floor dancin with herself.... WOW... So her preconceived ideas was that swingers were pervs... Oh...and I guess we are... At what point do you out yourselves to family and friends?? - - I really don't think it makes that big a difference. What ever you are comfortable with is what you should do. Me personally, I let the people I work with that we are swingers, after they had guessed. Didn't see any reason to lie to them. Hell I was hoping to get in the pants of a couple of them. Trying to find a fun "lifestyle-nude" resort for a vacation... - any suggestions... which are better.. hedo11, hedo111, desire, etc.. (others) thanks - UTCPL... thank you for the advice of the lifestyle travel site. We went into it, and it looks interesting. So far, it does not look like there are any groups going to HEDO11 during the months of May or June of '08, but I guess we will have to wait and hope.
It what we have been reading, it appears that HEDO11 is more designed for swingers and has a larger area for nude things, sexual things, etc... Hope we are not wrong, but that is how it looks.
We have never been to a place like this, and since this is our first we have decided we want to find a wild and go for it place... might as well jump in head first...

I have to disagree with you to a cetain degree. I have seen many couples gravitate to other couples. Also as a single male, I have even been blessed enough to find the occasional couple or single lady looking for it. The best thing to do is to keep a positive attitude and keep trying. I am sorry you guys are having such a hard time finding playmates. All I can say is that it is their loss. As others have told you before, this is largely a numbers game. If you are in an area without a large proportion of swingers then it will be harder for you. I did like the way you found your fun though. I would have loved to be in that bar on that night.

She is pretty close to correct. I have lived elsewhere but I like Utah. It does have its quirks but so does everywhere else. Life is what you make of it. There are areas with problems, mostly socio-economic in nature. Poor areas have more crime as a rule. Thus many of the older areas have higher rates of crime and problems in school but not all.
55 to 60 percent of the people in Salt Lake and Davis counties are non-LDS. However since the LDS are evangelistic in nature they have a tendency to want you to come to church. Most have gotten past the idea that letting their children play with non member children is a problem. Once they know you are not interested in joining they tend to leave you alone if you wish. But there are lots of good LDS and Non LDS neighbors.
Work with a realtor and find an area in your price range where there are other children close to yours in age. On the north of SLC, Bountiful through Layton will be more rural as will Harriman and daybreak areas to the South West. There are a lot of nice new homes in the south west corner of Salt Lake County. The east bench tends to be more money but not always. In Utah property taxes pay for schools.
The Provo/Orem area does have more LDS folks by percentage but not necessarily fewer swingers.
