It takes a completely stable marriage for the spouses and tons of open and honest communication from everyone involved. Both marriages are going on 20 yrs+ Every poly situation is different. Swingers Next Door! - ABC news story on Swinging! - I've heard that the A&E show is just what I thought it'd be, the young & beautiful and tension emanating from the vanilla neighbors. Of the 3 things I expected, so far, apparently, there hasn't been a marriage destroyed by swinging, but I'd be surprised if that doesn't turn out to be part of this "reality" show. But after just 1 episode, it looks like I'm 2 out of 3. I'm sorry, but I really think the show is an attempt, probably successful, to exploit something most people would find edgy and fascinating. I'd love to see a REAL reality show about swingers, but somehow I doubt that will ever happen because it wouldn't fit the "successful TV show" formula well enough. The closest I know of to an honest portrayal of things society thinks are taboo was that "real sex" series. And look how long that lasted. Certainly not long enough to have covered the many things that would have fit into the show's premise. If it was still running now there'd still be lots of things out there for new episodes. My suspicion is that while the title might have been, the actual shows just weren't sensational enough for it to be a long term success. ~ Terry

You seem to be a very presumptuous person. I was born in South Carolina and have lived there on and off. I was also a soldier for a time in the south. I am not from Utah. I have only been here for a little over a year. I was raised in Oregon. I have lived in both extremes. I have seen both sides of the world. I could care less what you are apologetic for. The bottom line is, that a Southerner's shit stinks just like everyone elses. They have and still commit atrocities in the South, just like anywhere else. Just as there are people that are hospitable in all of the world. Southern Hospitality is no more present than Northern Hospitality. Where you are from says nothing about the individual. If you understood any of what I said, you would know that. Your post suggested that the state you live in has something to do with your tact. That is absolute disinformation. It is propagandist intolerant garbage. All states have their assholes and their good people. I would also like to say that Liberalism or Conservatism also have nothing to do with it. All you are proving is that you, like most other are biased based upon your affiliations. Is that bad??? No. Just don't try and convince everyone that you are somehow better based upon your locale or political affiliation. We are all human. We shit, eat, sleep, hate, love, laugh and cry the same. You are no better than the next. Remember, it was you that was making the bold statement that where you were from had something to do with your tact. How did you meet your mate? - - Met on the old matchmaker.com when they still had a swingers section. We were both married to other people...the swinging part did not work out for various reasons, but we decided to be friends anyway...we stayed that way for a couple of years. Just friends. Not much later we began to get to know one another much better. We fell in love despite our best intentions to remain true to our mates. We didnt cheat. We didnt lie, or sneak around on them. We just told them the truth. After a short time, we realized that the only real issue in our lives was that we were not together each day. We were making our ex's miserable, so it was time to change our lives to be together. On July 18, 2001 we moved in together. Together we are stronger than apart. Together we have moved mountains and parted seas. We have been through hell and back for each other, and I know that if I were to go again, she would be there with me all over again. Our ex's have both moved on, and even dated for a short time. They are both remarried (to different people), and very very happy. We are great friends with both of them, and see them frequently as we have children with them. Once a week we all have dinner together, drink a few beers, and talk about our kids. We are lucky that we can all get over the past and be close friends for our children. They (the kids) will only benefit from our bond as friends. Luvbugs! (mR.) ;)

Monday, must be time for a new poll. - The Dad Bod - Maybe. But since the 'dad bod' thing seems to be trending on the internet right now I thought I'd see what female swingers thought about it. Explain why you like being a swinger - - This is what I think...The 2 leading causes of divorce are sex and money. I think if you can get your finances under control, and you are able to share your sexual hangups or fantasies together rather than having to hide them, there's nothing that you can't conquer together. I have never been closer to my wife, and wouldn't trade the relationship we have for anything.
