How did you meet your mate? - - Met on the old matchmaker.com when they still had a swingers section.
We were both married to other people...the swinging part did not work out for various reasons, but we decided to be friends anyway...we stayed that way for a couple of years. Just friends. Not much later we began to get to know one another much better. We fell in love despite our best intentions to remain true to our mates. We didnt cheat. We didnt lie, or sneak around on them. We just told them the truth. After a short time, we realized that the only real issue in our lives was that we were not together each day. We were making our ex's miserable, so it was time to change our lives to be together.
On July 18, 2001 we moved in together. Together we are stronger than apart. Together we have moved mountains and parted seas. We have been through hell and back for each other, and I know that if I were to go again, she would be there with me all over again.
Our ex's have both moved on, and even dated for a short time. They are both remarried (to different people), and very very happy. We are great friends with both of them, and see them frequently as we have children with them. Once a week we all have dinner together, drink a few beers, and talk about our kids. We are lucky that we can all get over the past and be close friends for our children. They (the kids) will only benefit from our bond as friends.

Calling all losers! - LS and club scene - We have said to ourselves before that 'we must be the worst swingers in the world'. We say this because sometimes we will get a text or email at 11pm and all it says is 'we are horny, lets meet and fuck'...hell we are already in bed and sometimes hubby is asleep.
For us it is about friendship first..dinner to get to know each other...movies, bowling, etc, etc and than when we all decide to play it is really fun and you actually know the others you are with and want to see them again. Seems like a lot of pressure to always be on call to play. We have very busy with work and life, a friend or two would be great. Don't get us wrong, we have met some amazing people through the lifestyle.

does anyone else go through periods of doubt? - as to whether this lifestyle is what they want? - You sound perfectly normal to me. Some people need a real connection with a person to make a connection, whether it be physical or otherwise. Some swingers (especially the men) can just do it with anybody, it's just something new, that's good enough. Personally, I like to have a strong physical attraction to someone before I consider sex with them. Another thing you mention, I believe is also similar to me, I'm a giver, not a receiver. I love to perform oral, men or women,(and I'm told I'm really good at it :)) but I'm not that good at receiving it (from either sex) until that person has really learned me(how I like to be touched or licked), and it may take a few times together, and sometimes either I or they don't have the patience, lol But performing it on others, especially when they're really enjoying it is a huge turn-on for me.
