Am I hot or not.... - - :s Another SM looking for attention. What is this site coming to? I have not had a problem with the overly generous tolerance of SMs on this site, but lately it seems like SMs are getting out of control. If you have ever been to a nice swinger club in Florida, you will see the difference between Friday (SMs welcome) and Saturday nights (couples only). The reason: the SM "Towel Sharks" circle around the play areas looking to watch couples and maybe even get some for themselves. Sometimes the SMs get so aggressive with the couples, it often creates conflicts and drives couples away. On this site we are all supposed to be nice to the SMs and not bash them. I understand the need to be civil and respectful to everybody. I also know many of the couples here enjoy hooking up with SMs (we are guilty of that multiple times ourselves). Of course, many SMs are nice guys who lay low and don't cause problems. Having said that... This post, the Mr. "Save-A-Life" post, and all the other stupid SM "Look at ME" posts, are really screwing this site up. In our book (and probably the majority of other reasonable people's opinions) SWINGERS are "couples" looking for other "couples". Sure swinger couples often look for a single to join, but its usually a female (highly prized) and not a male (over supply). SMs are not swingers. They are looking for some poontang and all too often they assume that swingers have loose women to share with them. Come on guys... get your own girl and THEN join the party. Hanging around here, perving on pics, and hoping for some strange, does not make you a SWINGER! With an over-supply of SMs, they have to resort to aggressive self-promotion in order to get noticed. This silly thread here is another example of that. Come on people. Its time to stop "feeding the cats".

Meeting new swingers? - Where to meet them? - A few months ago we got together with 2 couples we had met on-line. We met in the parking lot of a mall local to us- we happened to live just about mid-way between the two other couples. After hugging and shaking hands and chatting a bit we agreed to have drinks and something to eat at a nearby restaurant where we all got to know each other. Things proceeded from there to another location where friskiness was the order of the evening;)

can we swing and still not be in sin ? - - For what it's worth here is my 2 cents on the subject. I agree with Don on what he said earlier in this thread. The entire concept of sin was created by the religious leaders as a form of control. Every organized religion serves 3 primary purposes; 1) to explain the why's and how's of creation, 2) to give a foundation of how to live, 3) to give comfort about death. From the beginning of time religious leaders have used the power of religion as a means of controlling the masses to do what the leaders wanted or at least thought was best. Judao-Christian and Islamic religions went a step farther and created the concept of sin as a method of control. They created a list of commandments and declared that to violate these was to be in sin. Some sins were of greater import than others but it all equalled to the same thing, commit too many or even one of the wrong ones and you would be barred from from enjoyment and peace offered in the afterlife. So to answer the original question here, Can you swing and not be in Sin? Absolutely you can. Sin cannot exist seperate of heavily regulated and controlled organized religion. Since Religion itself is a fabrication of man, then so Sin is also a fabrication. I don't know too many swingers that particularly care for anyone else telling them what to do, how to do it, or whom they can do it with, regardless of the area of their life. Especially when it comes to their sex life.

Swingers In Uniform - Pay your memorial day respects here. - IYAAYAS!!!!

Swingers - a couples only lifestyle? - Are singles considered to be swingers? - T4REAL69 is right on target in giving the current meaning of the term "swinger". SWMTCPL you used two little words in your original post that opened this thread, "to us". Those two little words accommodate for a lot of variation in this lifestyle. When you say "to us" you are telling everyone how you fit in the big picture of what the swinger lifestyle is. If you read another persons profile or listen to what the have to say as to what their desires and interest are, you know what this lifestyle means to them. If we are open minded enough to understand this, and don't try to force our beliefs on others, who have view's that differ from ours, we are genuine swingers. The most basic rule in swinging is NO MEANS NO. If you are confronted by someone who does not suit your desires, be it because of their looks, gender or the activity, you can always say NO, and go your own way in this lifestyle.

Fantasy Fest - - We already said we're going, but one highlight will be a C/O Sunset cruise on Wed the 27th, that based on last year is the most fun, erotic, wildest time at FF. It's being organized by a group from another site that are mostly swingers. Not much money, and only a few hours with all you can drink. I hope some of you heard about it, and are going. You could ask us for more info. Sure hope to see some from this site, and know your from here. R & K

LDS Swingers Survey - Will any former/active LDS swingers take my survey? - done...thank yoou

Hollywood Swingers? - - Well, Jeri Ryan (Jessica Devlin on "Shark" and 7 of 9 on "Star Trek: Voyager") and her ex-husband, former Congressman Jack Ryan (R-IL) were before their divorce. It says a lot about the descretion in the Lifestyle that a top Hollywood sex symbol and a Congressman never got outed and that it only came up in their divorce proceedings.

Swingers cars??? - What ya driving?? - A Yugo and 74 AMC Pacer.

Newbie "outdoorsy" couple interested in the softer side. - Wish to develop a friendship with another couple in S ID, N UT -

There are couples and singles in the lifestyle, who have been in the lifestyle for a while, who also like to take things slow. Some don't want to just jump into bed, but they are aware of the many ins and outs of the lifestyle. I've been in the LS for years, but prefer to make friends, first, then decide if I want to go further if they, too, want to go further. If you want a friendship with no sexual strings attached, I suggest you look for others who feel the same. Narrowing your search down to just newbies, or suggesting that's what you're looking for, limits your options. You might consider meeting people with the precondition that you don't swap, but you may reconsider at a later date.
Thanks for your input. It is appreciated! Our thinking with looking for newbies was that we could all be nervous together and learn together. However, it's not like we know our way around these waters. All this has actually been very humbling to me (male half). I'm used to diving into things and doing well from the start. Here though.... it all feels so foreign, intimidating. Maybe it's due to my wife and I marrying right out of HS. We dated others in HS but that was so long ago with entirely different maturity levels. At any rate, your point is well taken. We welcome any advice and constructive criticism we can get. Thanks again!
What, specifically, feels intimidating? Or perhaps a better question would be what do you fear? Are you afraid that one of you will fall in love with a playmate and leave the marriage? Or that one or both of you will like swinging too much and become big ole sluts? LOL Or maybe you're afraid of contracting a horrific sexually transmitted disease and your junk will fall off? *grin* Most of us are TERRIBLY bad at risk assessment and more often than not we fear things that are statistically FAR less likely to happen than things we don't seem to fear all that much. Some people won't fly in planes even though they are FAR less likely to die in a plane crash than driving their car to Walmart. And many swingers are deathly afraid of getting AIDS even though it's really quite hard to contract compared to, say, HSV, which most adults have actually already been exposed to. Identifying why you're intimidated might be a better use of your time than trying to find a needle in a haystack. But in the end, do what you're comfortable doing. If you think finding another newbie couple is the least intimidating way to dip your toes in then, by all means, do that. Those of us who have been around the scene for a while, however, could tell you some of the drawbacks to meeting people who are newbies. Personally, we would seek out a more experienced couple, albeit one who is NOT pushy and is willing to go at your pace and is looking for friendship more than sex. The reason I say that is if things DO turn sexual, a more experienced couple is less likely to freak out or have other issues that they haven't already dealt with. Either way, good luck.
