Help us out.. Take this Survey - For Utah Swingers - Appreciate what you are trying to do...it is admirable. Just finished the survey. I did leave it in the comments section, but will include our opinion here, as well. And we are NOT trying to flame anyone's efforts. Just putting our thoughts in.
For us..the single most turn off of any event is limiting who may attend. Excluding the old or young ones, or the heavier ones, or..etc....you get it. We all have our preferences for play partners, but believe it or not, We are both a bit curvier, and me a bit older, but we still have younger, AND thinner friends who seem to enjoy our company both in, and out of the playroom. As we enjoy theirs.
I must qualify this a bit, tho, in saying that what we have encountered in the events we have hosted. We have found that although some folks do enjoy the company of the single guys, attendance is often severely limited if you include too many single males without dates. Sorry guys..just the way it is.
And..perhaps, as much as we disagree, it is the same. Just as with the single guys, too many of us, as an older/heavier couple may do the same in limiting the folks you are really trying to target. No butt hurt intended for anyone, as I said...just our two cents! There I said it so you don't have to...LOL
Single females profile... "but not" - - At the risk of taking this even further off topic...I look at honesty the same way I look at sin (not that I believe in the concept of sin). Observing and talking to my neighbors I've discovered that the majority have little "pet" sins that they unilaterally seem to deem more important to avoid than other sins. Some of my neighbors would never consider shopping on Sunday but don't have a problem working in their yards in rather skimpy (for them) attire during the summer. Others seem adamant that church attendance is more than mandatory but have no problem hitting Chuck A Rama after church. Still others are devout temple goers yet have confided that they have a single glass of champagne on New Years Eve. Honesty, to me, appears very similar. I know many swingers who are less than honest about their weight and/or age yet really seem to get upset if someone is less than honest about their relationship status. Still others state they are disease and drug free and demand the same in others yet I've seen them with cold sores (yup that's HSV people) and regularly partake in pot or use illegally obtained erection enhancing drugs. Honesty, like many things in life, is apparently quite flexible and indeed seems to be a matter of perspective.
ps- Not bashing, insinuating or otherwise making any kind of judgment about the OP's or anyone else in this thread. Just some general observations.
Singles posing as couples - - What about us? We're actually swingers who like to meet nice people. Sometimes even singles. Sometimes men. Sometimes women. sometimes couples. Some plump. Some skinny. Black Ring, Right Hand - How to tell if someone's a swinger - OMG! Just had a client walk in and notice my black tungsten wedding ring (I've had one for a couple of years now.) He told me that it I were to wear it on my right hand it would indicate I was gay. I told him I had heard that it indicated other things (didn't elaborate) and he assured me, and I guess he would know since he and his partner have been together over 20 years and finally were allowed to get married last winter, that it meant gay at...least among his friends and acquaintances. Maybe we swingers are too little too late to the party. Besides, Ms. Evil said she'd never wear anything that dark and colorless. Oh, and fwiw, when we first started swinging (back about the time Madame Curie was JUST starting to glow in the dark a little) the big thing was a necklace, or ring, or t-shirt, or even a tattoo of an apple with a bite out of it. Saw a few people wearing them at conventions/takeovers but never once have we ever seen anyone wear them in a vanilla public venue.
Porn & Marriage - Since we're the most sexually liberal people... - k, I have a friend who found porn on her husband's computer. In this case, she's not a swinger, and she's actually gorgeous, but doesn't quite have the body she used to because of pregnancy and a couple of C-sections. Huge body image issues, always had them, had an eating disorder in high school because of it. She goes to talk to her husband (only been married 6 weeks) and then he locks his computer so she can't get on it anymore. They aren't swingers, but she's not a prude either.
