Swinging ,Or cheating? - - Swinging is having sex with people who are not your legal spouses. By definition, having sex with someone who is not your legal spouse is cheating. Therefore all swingers are cheaters, whether or not the spouse knows it. Now, throw that out the window, and label everyone who swings, as cheaters, but ONLY if their spouse does not participate. If people bothered to get to know me, they would know that. But they knee-jerk and completely eliminate great people like me from their lives, just because they didn\'t bother to look before their leap to label. They are perfectly entitled to do so, and I applaud them for that choice. But they are not allowed to jump to the conclusion that I am \"cheating\" because she doesn\'t play. I strongly suspect it will show only really fit, conventionally sexy, couples on some kind of a bedroom merry-go-round. Along with, if they find it, some couple or couples whose relationship gets screwed up by swinging. And I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they created a situation like that for the show if they didn't just find one. But a REAL reality show about swinging, showing people from 18 through their 60s or 70s, with the biggest single group in their 40s, with bodies ranging from incredibly skinny through obese? People who are, except for having rejected society's "you only have sex with your significant other" commandment, are absolutely and completely normal people? No, THAT show they'd never sponsor. I expect that this show, if it has any effect at all on society's view of swinging, will have a negative one, reinforcing the idea that swingers will jump into bed with anyone, and leading to even more people "signing up" in the expectation of getting laid whenever they feel like it.

I think that the anger that leads to name calling and judgment sometimes is a secondary emotion that people choose to embrace because the primary emotion is much more painful. They may want what you have but lack the confidence or courage to go find it for themselves and so the same people that call someone a slut in the derogatory sense far too often are the same people that go off and struggle with their own sexuality in dark places through lying, cheating, abuse and even darker acts while swimming in a sea of self loathing. Swingers at work... - - My wife and I have had much the same experience. Recently, at my work a long time swing friend of ours that we had lost touch with (moved out of state) got hired to work at my company. At first I thought it could get a bit awkward, but it is all good. Luckily, our friend is very discreet and NEVER brings up anything about it at work.
