The desktop version of the site has been TRASH lately, loads so slow I might as well send a carrier pigeon to post on the message boards and draw people's photos instead of waiting for the site to load. I've been using the mobile site instead, but it misses some functionality.
Luckily in another thread DuskRider pointed out it was im.swingular.com that was not responding, causing the entire site to slow to a crawl. I'll try to show you how to block it, effectively fixing the site.
#1 - Use an adblocker - This will have many benefits for your computer by Blocking sketch ads and trackers and will basically speed up your internet browsing.
Chrome - uBlock Origin
Firefox - uBlock Origin
#2 - Block im.swingular.com - Click the uBlock icon in your browser toolbar, then click the settings button, i've put it in a red box.
Then when this is open click the My Filters Tab, and simply type in im.swingular.com into the first line. Then hit Apply Changes button, and you're done.
The site operates as it should for me now, it's almost a night and day difference. Now that you know how big of a nerd I am don't worry, I'll disappoint you in bed just as bad as before you knew.

Glad I could help! I wasn't sure how many people still subjected themselves to the pain if the desktop site, but wanted to try to help the few lost souls wandering the wasteland.

I'd bet you can just go into your; My Account, All Settings, on Swingular and uncheck the box for 'activate instant messenger' and it will accomplish the same thing. We've had ours turned off on this site for months and we never experienced the slow lag or loading that others have.
Unchecking the box for 'activate instant messenger' fixed it for us. Thank you for the heads up.

Well that's embarrassingly easy! Yeah... Just do that people! Haha.
That said adblockers are the first thing somebody should install in their computer, it will save you from intrusive and sketchy advertisements.
