...or my 'puter/browser/ISP, or are many pages on this site experiencing MASSIVE lag trying to load?
It's not just you. It's so, so slow.
Yeah, WTF??
I think they recently did an update and probably have a code issue.
It's still going on almost two weeks now. I'm to the point where I don't even want to log in because it's so frustrationg to sit there waiting for pages to load. No wonder everyone is connecting on Swingular and then jumping over to Kik. :-(

Are you still having issues? We use chrome and haven't noticed much lag the last week or so. There have a been a few times where it was slow once or twice loading a page, but for the most part, no issues at all.
That's actually what I use. I've never quite taken to the mobile platform for various reasons but there's DEF a problem...at least using Chrome. And I've tried clearing my cache and stuff with no difference.

That's bizarre we are all having different experiences with it. We don't use the mobile version either, it's not our favorite.

Edit: Just tried with Explorer and it was fine as well. No real lag to speak of. No idea.
No Issues for us.
I've found if, while you are waiting for a page to load, you click on the "x" on your browser to stop the page, the page pops right in. This suggests the delay is due to some request-- not significant to the page-- that has to time out before the page can load. It should not be a difficult fix.
We are having the same problem.

I see that as well. And I can similarly get a page to load more quickly by hitting the 'Reload this page' icon. Very strange. Still quite annoying to have to do that after every click. The only time that doesn't seem to work is when responding to a thread. If I want to quote another's message, like I did above, I have to wait until the page fully loads otherwise I can only add text and nothing more.
We're using Firefox and it hasn't been bad except when they are doing their "updates"...
Absolutely experiencing the same problem with the desktop site on multiple browsers and devices. The mobile site seems to be functioning just fine.

The delay with the desktop site seems to be data access, such as to populate the forum posts and the top nav bar. The static pages seem to load faster.

Unfortunately, Admin ignores support requests so there's really nothing for it. I reported it the day it started happening (little less than a month ago) and it's only gotten worse since. At first it was just the top bar that took forever to load. Admin hasn't even logged into the site since then.
It's an easy fix, im.swingular.com is not responding, so either remove the feature or fix the service.
But you get what you pay for, and every attempt to replace swingular over the last 10 years has failed because you can't beat cheap lifetime memberships.
I was wondering if I was the only one having issues on this site. Since the last time the site went down I have had issues with slow loading and not getting notices or anything else. I keep checking the main page and never saw anything related to this until I searched and found this thread. Makes no sense to me. They should have left it alone, seems each time they try to do something it only makes this site worse.

Noticed it too. Sucks
Kinda reminds you of the days when your phone would make a bunch of noise when you were using the internet doesn't it?

"You've got mail!"
Yup! I can't even check out profiles. It just seems that there is something missing. Really getting sick of all the problems on this site. Now I an seeing what others have said about the issues in the past.
Imma try logging in on my Commodore 64. Hell, it can't be any worse than it is now, right?

SLOOOOOOWW. I use Chrome so I tried Firefox which I read would be faster for this site and it is even slower. What's worse is that as time goes on both of them are slowing down even more.
Does anybody have an update for these issues? It's making the website useless.

YES! Go to "My Account" in the toolbar at the top of the page. Then click on "All Settings" in the drop-down menu and then disable (uncheck) the box marked "Activate Instant Messenger".
If the site is way too slow for you to get to the setting you can also add the following line to your C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts file:
127.0.0.1 im.swingular.com

Adding that line tells your computer to look at itself whenever it's supposed to look for im.swingular.com. It immediately fails, which lets the site load the rest of the way without issue.

It's a bit more permanent a fix though, so you might want to do it just long enough to disable the Activate Instant Messenger feature.
