We have both thought about getting tattoos, but obviously not seriously enough to have gone to a studio and actually do it. There is a immune response involved in the process. Macrophages go after the ink like they would some other invading foreign body like a bacteria, and eat the ink, but they can't digest it and pass it out of your body, and so those cells stay in your body for the rest of your life. That's a bit unnatural. That's part of the reason tattoos are permanent. Now that large amounts of tattooing has occurred over a number of years, involving millions of people if there are any significant negative outcomes, like an increase risk for granuloma, to be discovered, we will probably hear about it soon enough. Same could be said for positive potentials. Allergies are a secondary immune response to something that most often never really was dangerous to our body. It's the histamine response that can make us miserable or worse. People who grow up in an overly antiseptic environment are much more likely to have allergies. It's like our secondary immune system has a formative period when it should learn what's dangerous and what is not. I've wondered if there is any evidence whether the ink triggers one's secondary immune system long term in such a way that it is busy enough to not react to pollens and peanuts? Do people with tattoos have less allergies?

As for the self expression involved, in either getting tattoos or not, we are all for self expression.

We both would like some more, mrs would like to finish her arm. Mr would like to start one.
2 day old right shoulder and arm. 2 wks from now I'll finish with black and white shading to look like steel armor! I can't wait!

That is pretty cool. Did you design it?
Thank you and Yes, but with lots of inspiration from other armors. The crest is my family's from over 1100 yrs ago in wales. A little to add then the shading to give it dimension towards months end.
I love getting tattoos
I love it ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Update! Almost complete!
Maybe, if you don't mind, people could also post who their artist was so those of us so inclined might know which artists to contact to get similar ink. TIA
